Does anyone here know about this: https://open.spotify.com/album/57OY63NktOrszypX8yxeMk
I havent seen it before. also TIL the preakness working title was "A Day Ago". Did i somehow miss this show getting an official release?
Cant find anything about this anywhere. Not mentioned on any list of Paw Tracks releases. Not very googleable. The boot for this show is of very high quality, definitely a soundboard recording that was mixed afterwards. Whats the deal?

I recorded this at the peak of AC/music-fandom with a simple little sony mic to minidisc.
Named it "A Day Ago" after misheard lyrics, as was (and still is, I think) customary on CA for the unreleased songs. Also tagged Drone as "The Brown Note" but that one didn't seem to catch on, fortunately.
I still remember my pants flapping around my legs from the bass. Drone arpeggiating into Tomboy blew my mind.
Anyway, I shared the recording here, and then Pete graciously offered to master it about a year later (looking at the files) and paw tracks threw it on spotify. I think it's been on and off there for years, I can only listen to the final two songs now. Probably not worth the hassle to get approval from the venue to properly release it. I would also assume it's still available here in both versions.
This was the second or third show of a three-date tour (Germany/Belgium/Belgium), first Tomboy shows.
Deakin opened, but I think I was too concerned with battery life and disc space to record it.
That is the deal, as I remember it. Very fun. And shows Pete was all in from the get-go!

Wow, so that is the deal! That is super cool. It sounds excellent, really great recording! Shame it isn't up anymore/never got an official release. Mind if I throw this on youtube? I'm exporting some cool visuals for it right now.

Thanks for uploading Preakness, enjoyed the show to start my day today. I don't know the Tomboy shows too well, super interesting stuff. And props for the recording, svilla! Been a while since I've been on a PB kick. He is da man

Living in the After sounds so much like something Juan Gabriel would've made! Can't wait to hear an actual mariachi version of that and Danger!

Out of all the albums released in the 2020s, Reset is the album that puts the biggest smile on my face.
It's an outpouring of infectious vibrancy and it makes me pine for an era I never lived in, bringing forward this purely glowing 50s/60s vitality, like it bottled up all the best vibes from that era and channeled it and filtered it through a modern lens.
The songs themselves are hits - hit after hit - a trim and very strong collection of tracks that zips by in an instant but feels so gratifying and full. Like when you go for fine-dining and the serving size looks meager and slight, but every flavor and texture is so bold and packed with nutrients that your stomach feels so satisfied by the end. The Noah-Noah-Pete wave works so well... I could go on, but it really is a wondrously crafted album. Uncoincidentally it works really well back to back with MGMT's Congratulations when I'm chasing a certain full-color pop retro-influenced experience.
Hoping to hear the OG version with all samples one day!

Mariachi EP is being premiered at an event in Lisbon July 26. First official mention of an actual release I think? It's on Sb's insta

Hey there . Well….not exactly covers . We recorded in Coyoacan in Mexico city with MARIACHI 2000 de Cutberto Perez . We translated the songs into Spanish & sing a version of each of the 2 songs as do they . They played the instruments & we did the percussion . We have two vids too , one by skater Evan Smith and one by yr om bray Lucas Moreira .

Have you heard Sinister Grift? Is it as good as the previews suggest? Finding it difficult to wait.

I have , yeah , it sounds great . Has a couple of new twists that I liked the most , but I can't really answer questions on that . It'll be worth the wait .
Such a shame the industry has these looooong lead times . Wasn't always like this .There were records recorded , pressed & released in the same WEEK in the '60s ....

Yeah i have a hard time imagining its even good for business/sales... Im guessing its the label giving certain artists the short end of the stick to make room for other releases?
Also...... Im guessing pb solo tour in 2025 with a full band?

No one cares about my opinion, but I think thoughtful and caring artists who have aligned themselves with progressive ideas and political candidates in the past shouldn't be using Twitter. No one should, but especially those who have a platform to present art. Elon Musk is a fascist and a source of a wealth of disinformation right now and you are only enabling him by using his platform. I don't think people should be turning a blind eye to what is going on over there. Wish Noah would use Threads or something instea. I'm sure that's not great to use either, but I don't think they are equivalent. It's disappointing that he is still posting stuff on Twitter still.

I'll allow it. I think it is worth calling out how much it sucks that so many people are ok with using a platform that is owned by someone who is actively opposed to my existence and using his billions of dollars to make a worse world for myself and other trans people

I guess I could see it as like he's not on there enough to see the worst of it/is just hanging on but yea, I wish I didn't have to go on X, The Everything App™, Home of the MyPillow Guy™, to see snippets of this record

I quit twitter shortly after Elon bought it and I don't feel like I'm missing anything. I mean apparently I am missing some things but I don't *feel* like I'm missing anything.

I think when you look at this https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna163665 and piece it together with marking cis as a slur, giving the extra push to matt walsh's transphobic documentary, all the special treatment for libs of tik tok, and all the other shit, his position is pretty clear. And so that's why I will be taking no moderator action to stop anyone from complaining about that up here. Though if we really want to discuss the situation, it's better to use the thread hypo made. I was figuring it would just be people saying "hey this shit sucks" whenever twitter posts come up in here

I've been bumping the tomboy singles mixes recently. Some really cool stuff there. Benfica single mix is a much stronger version in my opinion. Slow motion has a lot of sick little details too that would have been sick on the album version.
