Jabawaqy? Lol. PB having fun with the names here... Well i hope its on the album. He hasnt been playing that in any of the recent shows.
Basically we thought tribe vibes is this: http://youtu.be/-y4IoXWGD90 (im on my phone and somehow can't embed)
And second half of that is what we call heart and soul. And because of how it was played at ATP, we thought it was all one song.

I think my opportunity's passed since he only had one show in my area.. whoever's going to the next few shows, get a setlist from him. that would be the bomb.

On March 7, 2010, a tour setlist with titles for ten of the new songs was posted on Panda Bear's MySpace blog.
thats how he posted the titles from the tomboy tracks, so i guess he doesn't have a problem with sharing names..

So Tribe Vibes is basically two songs called "Faces in the Crowd" and "Jabawaqy"? I hope they both make it to the LP.

jabbawaqy is the one w the sort of racing car round a track sound , a la Comfy . 'faces in the crowds' has that ' when you say ' vox sample . yes . two songs .

Pete, all I want to know is what these two songs are called because they're my favorites...
1. The one with the "what a joke to joke, no joke" lyrics.
2. The one he's been ending his sets with on this tour, before the encore. Here's a quick snippet. I think the final lyrics are "you could die today."
It's my birthday today so it would be really sweet to be able to jam out to these and know the actual names! Cheers!

looks like panda might end up giving avey a run for his money for the anco member who's taken the most amount of acid lol
And yeah it looks like till I die has been cut from the main album....(((.
I still hope that it ends up on an ep or something, it was such a classic.

Yeah, and I think he's singing "you'll trip up again" at the end of "Fill Those Spaces." Is Noah telling us this will be his trippiest album yet?

Dang, so Tribe Vibes/Heart and Soul really are two separate songs then? Thanks for confirming that Sonic, it's been the cause for a lot of confusion with the recent shows
It's also funny how Panda mentioned that the album wouldn't have many transitions due to struggling to make them work with these songs when that transition was so good that it fooled us into thinking those two songs were one for almost a full year XD
Still holding out hope that Faces in the Crowd and Trip a lot/Triple Eye will make it onto the album!

Mr. Boom, a query if you'll entertain it: It's not about GR, so feel free to skip over it!
On Last Night at the Jetty, there seems to be a mic and/or compression change when Panda sings, "I've a pretty sound mind to go" and "Even if I had the eyes to try" during the 2nd verse. The vocals sound very different from the line before and after. It sounds like maybe that decision was made to up the volume of Panda's voice without boosting gain or doubling/tripling his part.
Can you talk about what that came down to during the mixing process.
This is something I think about every time I hear the song, even in a live setting, so maybe you can put that anxiety to rest.
THANK YOU

I think you mean from him going all ringo ?? he sings in that lower register , with no higher harmony ?
the Dimension D gets all psyched at those frequencies.......
hope that helps

haha all ringo... and the beatles comparison discussion begins....
Yes, that's the one, sounds very up front and personal, it really works with the lyric.
D-oes what D wants
Thanks SB, really excited to hear what PB and co has been cooking up. keep it grim.

^mayhaps they'll be released as a double a-side stand alone single.... It'd be so sweet if he led up the album with a non-lp single like that, honeycomb/gotham style. non-album singles make me so fucking happy

Non album singles are the bees knees, I could definitely go for a 7" or two leading up to the release.

I bug out abt song's lives ever since being traumatized by From a Beach's still-birth, but I know deep down that Panda would nvr put out anything less immaculate than Tomboy.. it's a high standard, but yal clearly got this..

Hey Sonic Boom,
I know you are not allowed to give out too much on the project since you are so closely involved in it, but would you say the release date that's been given (August) is an accurate estimation of when the album will be out?
Thanks Pete, you are an inspiration. I just drifted away is an incredible song .

feel like we should lay off some of the more trivial questions no matter how tantalizing the answers could be...SB isn't here to do press releases! (right?)

how is trying to figure out when the music will be released trivial? i'd say it's more important knowing when the music will come out then getting the lyrics/songtitles/etc which will be out in due time anyways. getting into all the details and becoming obsessed with the early live versions of the songs is what burns people out on the music so that by the time the album comes out they are disappointed it isn't what "they" thought it would be like. it literally happens every time whenever fans get to hear the album live before it's recorded in the studio.
besides, lyrics are the least important part in music, unless you are a 12 year old girl who likes to sing along to the songs. panda bear largely get's by because his melodies are that good, not that he's a great lyricist.
