It's one thing to write a song based around a sample but isn't singing melodies from the original piece much more like a 'cover'.

^but it's not quite a cover either cuz it's still considerably origninal...it's like a 'response' to Tchaikovsky

I totally understand the vibe of the new version of Principe Real with these synths. To me it's like a flashback to the very beginning of 90's, when I was a child. It's like I could feel the magic of existence back then but lost it while becoming older. With this song I can feel it again. I have strong emotions, like: here it is again. It's a similar kind of nostalgia as with BoC or MBV records, but it also has its own vibe.

Though, It is original to go out of your way to rip off a musician note by note.

I love the new bass lines he's using. Really filtered and bouncing arpeggiation.

I certainly hope so, that was one of my favorites from the ATP set. His vocals were awesome in it.

Saw him live at Sasquatch last night. The world became right. Everything was perfect. He was on a cliff and it was like we were on a hovering land mass in the sky and he was our pilot. Travel whatever distance you need to see him this tour. It's worth it.

on backdrifters thalia hall boot, if you turn it up real loud, you can hear this really really sweet dubby bassline in Principe Real that totally just kicks ass.

So there's going to be a studio version of "Triple Eye" for sure? Bless you, Sonic Boom.
Though would it now make more sense for us to call the song "Shuts an Eye"?

They were probably thinking they were the most innovative and clever band in the world until they discovered bros.
After they found bros, they were probably thinking, "How dare this Panda Bear guy steal our original idea?".

Which songs are going to be meeting the reaper?

Oh there's a band called Magic Tricks? I wouldn't be surprised. I was just hoping to trigger a response that would reveal more Grim Reaper lyrics. I had a feel that "magic trick" might be some of those magic Panda words you work over in your mind until it sounds like the words you want it to be.

I'm also now convinced that, "tick tick" part in fill those spaces is actually "Magic Trick" and maybe that's what the song will be called.
Yeah, that makes sense with the other lyrics being about magic and ruses and spells, and it's especially clear in the Warsaw boot. I'll put it on lyricalcollective.
Can anyone make sense of the "me back me back" hook and the lines surrounding it? Sounds like "nobody" might be "the party" or "a body," and listening now, the hook might actually be "lay back" (which is an actual phrase, in English!), but other than that I have no idea.
edit: I couldn't really decipher the two opening lines either.

MGMT congratulations - and the Air remix of 'it's working' . What's going on ? By Marvin Gaye
I hear a new World by the Blue Men (joe meek) , smiley smile & side 2 of Today by the Beach Boys
Save for a rainy day by Jan & Dean , Emperor Tomato Ketchup by Stereolab , Mama you've been on my mind by the Caravelles, and Poeme electrinique by Varese .......
Also for the neigh sayers , there are two full runthroughs in hi- fidelityville of mr Noah's ( heyheyhey) ATP showdowns.......but i'm not sure you'll need them ....but for completism maybe .....??

I'll see what the Noahtorious one says when he's back from bouncing round Canada , the USA & Nippon . But R.i.p. that it'll all b fine ....
