First post on CA, hooray! Anyways, I reviewed and pushed Sleep Cycle onto our college radio station for others to enjoy the wonderful sounds that Deakin has blessed upon us. I've seriously been listening to the album at least twice a day since release... it helped that SC was released during quite a changing point of my life.
Here's an Instagram post of Deakin replying to my IG post, to which I fangirled excessively:

damn now I kinda want a copy of that CD version bootie!
it looks pretty cool!

I guess in theory I could just play the bandcamp over laptop / phone speakers and just record / burn THAT to cassette tape?

Well if you want the document of that makeshift cover and the CD review I submitted, I would be more than happy to send that to you. I think my review of Sleep Cycle ultimately worked well - the station has already played Just Am and Footy several times since Thursday!

Welcome Walnut.
Make yourself comfortable in the contrarian thread. Good place to garner a general vibe of this palce, and get to know really people. It comes personally recommended

I always listen to seed song first. One of the best song transitions to come from the group in years. On the same level as mr. fingers-->kindle song and guys eyes-->taste, which also demand to be heard together every time.

yeah. these guys fucking kill it with their transitions. i always loved in the flowers -> my girls.
sorry to revisit music criticism, but i am generally irked by the fact that many critical outlets have just outright ignored this wonderful album. it has an 85 on metacritic right now--which is awesome--but from only four reviews. you'd think more sites would be keen to cover this record. still holding out hope for a TMT review. again, i'm just interested in seeing this thing get the exposure it deserves.

He didn't advertise it much, or go out of his way to make sure publications see it. Seems like he wanted it to be on the dl. which is kind of a shame; i feel like reviewers would have jumped on the ability to claim this album is "saving animal collective" or something haha

Deakin posted an update re: shoes and said the cassingle will feature a "bonus track". I wonder if it'll be the same track both sides or one of the Sleep Cycle tracks backed with a b-side.

Plus you can get em lossless and you don't need an account or anything, it's so sad people still choose itunes over bandcamp

Just wanted to post that since this has come out, I have probably heard my wife listen to Just Am no less than 60 times - she's obsessed! Interestingly, as much as I like that song, I probably actually prefer golden chords, footy, and good house to it-proof of what a great and diverse record sleep cycle is. Deakin you rock.

I had a week or two off from it and wondered whether I was just swept up in all the excitement. Started listening again last Tuesday morning. Must have listened twenty times since. I'm happy when every track starts. No skip.

yeah this thing is really aging like fine wine. On first listen it felt short, but now I think of it as just very concise with no filler or over indulgence in particular moments. can't wait to listen on some upcoming drives for summer trips to wisconsin/michigan. gonna sound great in the woodz.
