lmao that pitchfork used that ridiculous name. at least they kind of knew that it's pretty stupid, since they're questioning whether that's the name

It'd be more flattering if they cited us. Unless they consider us a threat, in which case it's even more flattering than I thought.

stereogum cited us at least and i think pfork probably just ripped it from stereogum so they were most likely too confused about who to not cite

they could have found some of this info from random youtube links I guess, but it does seem like the forum is the initial source most of the time. Do they know about the youtube comment section word filter for p4k? Maybe they can write about that?

Holy fuck "fill in those spaces" is good. I didn't listen to the boots much before seeing him at 930 and after going to that and listening to the Warsaw tape, I couldn't be more psyched about Grim.

Panda's vocals have gone to a whole new level on this tour. He is much more expressive and confident in his delivery. He's developed this fucking weird psychedelic crooner sound that makes person picth panda sound like he's waiting to be unleashed.

PSA: If you're thinking about seeing him on this tour and haven't gotten tickets, buy them already. You don't want to miss this shit.

^yes dude, spot on abt the vocals. He's definitely reached some new level of expressiveness. It makes the new stuff crazy and more emotional to listen to because it seems like he's being more open than ever before. makes me feel like he's letting us in or something hehe, it's really cool

Anyone feel that a lot of these songs lack an ending or a conclusion? Don't get me wrong I love them and Noah but it seems like he just jams on them and then fades it out. This appears way more cynical then I really feel.

It's not a matter of so, you just said they aren't lurking but they always are ;) It's flattering to some extent but when something we bring up on here just in conversation gets blown up (and subsequently skewed) on pitchfork or another blog it's a bit ridiculous

I totally feel you on this one. I just finished listening to DAD's recording and while it inspires a lot of hope and hype for grim reaper, it sounds like most of these songs only work well in a live setting because they melt into one another. Not sure how it would work on the album. It almost feels like a collage (Coollodge) of ideas that he's test driving to see what works.

Btw i havent listened to a lot of the boots since ATP. There's quite a lot of new songs! He didn't play the other guy at ATP right? That song is so good.

It's interesting that the set he is playing now seems like a totally different concept from the original "A Tribe Called Quest" influenced idea. By eliminating that particular bunch of songs he debuted at ATP from this tour, that trashed out, break beat abrasiveness from ATP has been replaced by more tropical dance party vibes.

If he omitted and added as many songs as i can remember i guess he does have two LPs worth of songs. And im sure he has some other songs under wraps.

Guys im so excited.

Also i miss that echoy call and response bit on cant come back. I miss triple eye (i think thats what its called). I miss tribe vibes. And i wish fill those spaces outro was way longer. That vocal melody deserves it.

ya, I can't decide which of these 2 sound worlds I'd want to be featured more prominently on an LP (with the rest as b-sides, ep !) He has been quite a busy bee. And for some reason I don't rlly miss the call-and-response thing in Nutcracker song. This tour has been so incredible but I haven't wanted an lp this bad since chz (seems like it wasn't hard to wait for slasher once it was announced earlier this year..)

The call-and-response vocals on Dark Cloud sort of remind me of the vocals on In the Singing Box. Kinda cool.

Also, thanks DAD & Lion! This recording is going to be definitely in my iPod.

I've been busy listening to the AC bootlegs of 2007, you know, to make the wait for "Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper" less anxious. The All Known Live Recordings thread is one of the best Collected Animals threads imho, everybody should go and check it out, it's a good way to wait, in each bootleg AC sounds different, but they're the same always, always, when it comes to give the best of them, that never changes. Oh, I'm having so much fun listening to those AC & Panda boots.

It's amazing how pretty much every bootleg, or at least every era of the band, is something special and separate from all the other eras. I've been really digging the 2005/11/01 BBC Radio 1 session lately, been listening to it tons, and to think that there are hours and hours more of these recordings is mind-blowing.

Someone can tell me which are the songs that he stopped playing? I have the ATP boot but im trying not to listen a lot, but if he took some songs off, i may listen to those

Also i was at the show in lisbon, and the ending with the cosplay version without the marijuana was such a great way to end the show that is pretty hard to imagine the concerts and the album without that as a closer

He currenly isn't playing Wazzup, Til I Die, the "Please Don't" first half of Heart and Soul, Triple Eye, Shut Up, or Cosplay.

damn I really wanted to hear all of those tomorrow in chicago. sure it will still be amazing though. If he doesn't put all of this stuff on the album I really hope he makes an EP or some singles to get this stuff out there.
