I don’t post here much but I love this band, I love this album, and I love this fanbase. Feeling overwhelmed with gratitude from Buoys and can’t wait for the LA shows.

Crazy to think we’ll have an Avey record to pair with this in just over a month! It’s an exciting time to be a fan.

this made me weirdly emotional when i read this. it's touching that he's vocally thanking us, and saying that giving us an album is "the least he can do". god i fucking love this man

What is that from?

Yee I agree homies is his best album and sunset his best song ever. All of his stuff is masterful tho

To me the quintessential panda bear feeling is having an ecstatic warm bolt of joy in your spine while you have some chillier vibes up in your brain, contorting your face into a fucked up confusion

After seriously bumming Saturdays for days, I've come back to this with a vengeance. I think it might be the most coherent and consistent PB record and it's basically all deep cuts. Absolutely adore it.

I've only skimmed it but some of the explanations are just as cryptic as the actual lyrics lol. still pretty cool to read though

edit: lol

Honestly I hadn't been super sold on the singles but hearing the full album now I'm really digging it. Will probably be even better in the summer and not during the middle of a snowstorm

Really didn't rate this one. There's always nice moments across all his releases but tbh since Person Pitch none of his stuff has fully clicked with me, whereas Avey is still absolutely killing it.

Having said that, there's nothing offensive about this album. It's very chill, but apart from a few nice chorus moments it does very little for me after lots of listens.

I will write more later, but for now, I'll say the following: this album is impossibly good.

I've listened in very good headphones and also very loud off the turntable, not yet in the car yet. How are people finding best listening experiences? I know in some interviews panda talked about having to make sonic decisions that should work (differently?) with different set ups and I think I was hearing that today and last night.

Just really fucking awesome shit, I'm so happy. Good for us all.

I love this so much.

I’d kill to be able to hear Tomboy with this production. I think that was his original intention with that and fell into old tricks.

Killer album this is for sure.

vinyl sounds great. given the run time, seems like a missed opportunity to not press it at 45rpm but oh well.

man, i LOVE the packaging of the vinyl. the texture of the stock they used for the jacket is great and i love the cover way more in person than i did when it was first released. the pattern on the boarder and the spine is really cool too, and the lettering inside is sick. great work to everyone on design.

Token is like the ideal Panda song to me. It's what I wished the Tomboy songs sounded like. If Tomboy had been produced in the same way as this song, it would be one of the greatest albums of all time.

damn, it's pretty hard to imagine this because Buoys and Tomboy sound so different but I can see what you're saying. It reminds me of how Panda said for Tomboy he initially imagined the sound as like a triangle between the voice, guitar and rhythms. Buoys feels much more like it fits that description, except maybe it's more like voice - guitar - bass. I love all the heavy dub style fx on Tomboy but it would amazing to hear those songs in this stripped back style.

It's cool that now he has more solo albums where he plays guitar than ones where he doesn't, I just realized

I wasn't sold on the LP when it freebirded, but I'm feeling it this week. Been on repeat for the commute every AM. It sounds really nice loud with heavy bass. Some nice deep end sounds throughout the record. I'm over the moon at Masters, the vocals are so cool with the autotune. Those you's, do's, & true's are really wonderful.

Fingers crossed for the Bouys full band tour like he mentioned in the future. That would be sweet.

Bring on this summer AC tour.

After a few more listens, I am relieved and delighted by this album. I didn't know I needed Buoys but man am I glad it's here. Inner Monologue might be the biggest surprise for me. Its opening bit scared me last night :drugz: but it's growing to be one of my favorites.

i hate to be a negative nancy but SEriously

i really dislike where he placed the "oooh"s, vocals are overwhelmingly upfront, "it comes to me" and "and when it makes a sound" lines sound off the beat

besides that singular complaint i'm lovin this album
