So apparently he hasn't been playing the first half of Heart and Soul live the past few nights. I wonder if that means it's somehow a different song or why he's doing that at all if not.

here's the vid. it's definitely super clipped out at some parts. but there are some gem moments where the audio ain't toooooo bad. I just took it for myself to remember the night. Not a high-quality boot by no means. Just warnin' ya!

Vacuum might be edging out Heart & Soul for second favorite of the new material
Principe Real's still first

He killed at the 9:30 Club. I made a vid where I drew and animated some PBear/Grim Reaper action and talked about the show.

SWEET DUDE

looked really cool

but you got some facts wrong brother

Tomboy was Panda Boy's 4th album not his second. You can't just ignore the existence of two whole albums dude.

Thanks!!!! Finally something. Full set never disappoints!

As for the 5/26 show. I'll be in the front catching perfect video. I know the spot, I've been there before. If anyone can take one for our team towards getting audio, we can have something special to hold us over until the album. I'll of course catch audio (because I've never encountered another taper at the shows I've attended), but I know someone going can capture it better.

Really interested in hearing those two new ones but trying to abstain until Wednesday's show :(

Edit: Aaaand 5 minutes later i caved and listened to a few snippets. It sounds like one of the songs that was thought to be new is actually "Mention" based on about a 10 second clip.

I'm still bummed that he took out the beginning section of "Tribe Vibes"...it was already so good, and now it feels sort of incomplete? Hopefully that comes back on the studio version.

Yeah for real, the first half had hands down my favorite melody from all of the new stuff. It's hard to imagine him disposing of something like that for good so I'm hopeful it will return in some form.

OK, as someone who's been out of the loop for quite a while, I've been having some trouble keeping track of the song-names that everyone is throwing around.

So, out of the Grim Reaper material that Panda has played thus far, here are all the songs that I have managed to jot down:

Can't Go Back [alt. No Joke]
Cosplay [alt. Marijuana Makes My Day; Make My Day]
Dark Cloud
Do It [alt. Day After Day]
Down Below [Track 8 of Panda Bear @ Warsaw (5.18.2014)]
Heart and Soul [alt. Tribe Vibes]
Make Believe [Track 2 of Panda Bear @ Warsaw (5.18.2014)]
Mention
Not Too Bad [alt. Vacuum Song; One of Them; Vacuum]
Other Guy [Track 9 of Panda Bear @ Warsaw (5.18.2014)]
Principe Real
Shut Up
Take Care [alt. Fill Those Spaces]
Till I Die
Triple Eye
Wazzup

What am I missing? Are there any accidental doubles listed above? Have any titles been replaced?

It looks like you got everything right except that Not Too Bad and Vacuum Song are the same. You will sometimes see Take Care referred to as Fill Those Spaces as well.

I'm also not sure which is One of Them offhand but it looks like you have all the songs he's played except for the two brand new ones that we haven't yet given names to.

Thanks, Ginko! I edited the list accordingly.

I saw "One of Them" mentioned on another list (link) but the Search option of the forum doesn't accept any of those three words, making it hard for me to track down the first use of that one title. Maybe the poster typed "one of them" as if to say "one of the other songs but I forgot the name of it"?

one of them / not too bad / vacuum song are all the same one

calling it vacuum song is kinda pointless now anyway since the vacuum sounds were taken out

ah! You're so right EVERYONE! Everyone is right about everything. The first half of Heart and Soul is sew gooooood. Sad he's not playin' it anymore. Hopefully it's on da album. I like the drum sample in the ATP version a lot more than what he's playing this tour. I heard barely any snare track at 9:30. I think maybe the mixing was just off on that song though. Everything else was spot on.

I was at the 9:30 show and have since been thinking constantly about everything I saw.

That opening track = jizz. I had goosebumps the entire time. could see that as the opener to the album. hope the album-version is 6 minutes longer :)

also: the dc native in me was grinning like a mad man during the second track and how panda flipped that ashley's roachclip drum loop. great nod to dc, even though he's been doing that one at all the dates thus far. love this guy

Uh, I envy you guys! I wish I could see Panda live. It's the only musician whose album I аm waiting for this much. I kinda feel like I will get the source of pure happiness when the album is out, which is weird, I agree. But these new songs are so inspiring!

Wednesday's show in Chicago will be the first AnCo-related live concert I attend where the songs are unreleased but I've listened to the bootlegs. I feel like a true AnCo fan. :smoking:

So what's everyone's opinion on the "new" Principe? I remember we all thought that song was 'dun n dusted' in the studio already...... Has a COMPLETELY new feel.

the way noah has been presenting heart&soul lately really just makes it seem like they were always two different songs to begin with, albeit one with no ending? maybe *we've* been wrong this whole time

I kinda liked the older Principe where it was just him singing over the CHz radio version, it was a lot groovier
Hopefully the song's just not translating well through the video, but I kinda liked it when it was just the organ and beats and panda

It's still pretty groovy...it's a matter of taste I guess, but it was my favorite song in his set when I saw him a couple nights ago, and I think the changes are definitely an improvement.

Danny (Perez) shot stuff specifically for these new songs. He's not sampling now; it's all his own designs. So it's a bit more focused. We've only done one show with the visuals so far, at Austin Psych Fest, so I haven't really seen everything yet. I felt weird turning around to look at it while I was playing!

But Danny showed me some of it the day before the show. It's very colorful, but very dark, at the same time. That's an odd combination, but I'm not sure how else to describe it. It all feels very sci-fi, and that suits the songs. I've sort of redone the way I play for these new songs, and that sci-fi feeling works very well.

that's fucking awesome

Principe Real starts around 48 minutes if you's interested. Sorry it's so clipped out at some parts. like i've said, it's mainly just so i can look back and remember what he played that night and maybe remember what was going through my head when i heard this magic go down. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1ccDIbY-7Q
