That's so good! It'd be great to have those remaining songs on an EP and not lose them at all. Far as we can tell Panda is on a roll, the EP could turn out to be an LP! I mean, Why not?
The "Vacum" song is starting to grow on you, Doesn't it?
My 17 year old brother is really into Hip-Hop, Electronic & Pop music, but he respects so much the Animal Collective work, and sometimes we listen to Panda or some Animal Collective record and he really seems to enjoy it, we usually do that at night, when the house is silent and then we talk about it. Now we're so psyched about this new Panda's Record and sometimes I just caught him mumbling "she don't make that warm agaaa-aaain" and he says that is so sticky and he also told me that he cannot wait to listen to the studio version of "Prince Real." Sometimes he plays that song when driving and he just says to me "Woah, Panda es otra cosa" which is literally "Panda is another thing" that in context means a mind blowing thing, so I just put a big smile and say to him "I know"
P.S.
Thanks Medellia
Also, please upload the video/audio recording of Panda Bear live at the 9:30 club last night, SpritBear

Side note... There was this girl behind me who kept putting her hands on me. I shortly realized she was rolling face. She got in front of me and we danced basically the whole show. It was kind of weird at first but I just kind of went with it. Does anyone here who was there know an Angie?

Lol the same thing happened to me at an AC show once. This girl came up and started dancing with me out of nowhere for the entire second half of the show. I was rolling really hard and didnt have a GF at the so I just went with and didn't ask questions. We ended up making out at one point. Soon as the lights came on her and her friend bolted.Things got weirder after that

This is why I love Collected Animals. You guys are always on the ball with the latest info.

Needless to say I'm psyched for the Chicago show on Wednesday.
If there's any chance that the September release mentioned by Panda is legit (unlikely), my bday is September 2, a Tuesday and thus a potential album release day
Anyone who's been to the recent shows, did he play any Person Pitch jams or just Tomboy? Just curious, I don't really care either way because I most excited for the unreleased stuff

Haha holy shit. That's basically exactly what happened. We started making a couple times. I rationalized it like this: I can either watch panda bear, or I can watch panda bear with a beautiful girl dancing with me.

main set was entirely grim reaper, encore was all tomboy songs: Last Night at the Jetty, Scheherazade, and Surfers' Hymn. I imagine he'll keep that static, at least certainly Scheherazade, since the visuals to that song tied the whole show together: the grim reaper ripping up a stuffed panda bear, all to that really unsettling piano loop. really powerful, can't think of another word for it. very moving show, extremely dynamic, especially considering it's just him and the visuals.

I could see him potentially switching up that encore but it worked really well as a piece, those three songs. but who knows. I don't think Surfers' Hymn could be switched out either because he left the stage as the song faded out, and the sounds of waves crashing continued or a minute or two before the lights came up.

I don't think he's using a pitch corrector live, as he was pitchy at some points.

It's awesome to hear that he potentially has two LP's worth of stuff. My best guess would be that whatever is left over gets tacked on to some singles as b sides, or even more likely gets reworked for whatever the next AC release is. The latter seems pretty likely, especially considering that both Song for Ariel and Daily Routine both surfaced around the same time that Person Pitch did and we didn't see them again until MPP.
I believe I also heard that New Town Burnout was a leftover from Tomboy, but that could be bunk.

yeah i remember that too
the fact that he said Bros was a given "to keep the faithful happy" makes me think the writer isn't entirely reliable and might've misunderstood whatever press materials they got, which could've simply listed it as his 5th LP, or tentatively titled No. 5

90% of music "journalism" is written by unpaid college students with little to no oversight from an editor. Definitely not paying any mind to that unsubstantiated blurb.

I think there's a possibility he'll switch the song/encore order up because the visuals were actually quite different from psych fest to 9:30 club.. seems like the video can be easily modified and smushed around. for example, the reaper ripping up the stuffed panda was the first to play at psych fest but second to last at 9:30. but maybe that was just him actually starting his ~official tour setup~ and it will be the same from now on. I dunno. either way, it's a show you all have to go see. go see it right now. sell your mom to buy tickets.

That's a possibility - some songs reworked for an upcoming AC release, I'd be totally pleased if he does that! The EP is a good idea, but what if he goes by releasing the remaining songs on 12"s? That could be great too, and then some of the other stuff could be reworked for the next AC release. You know, he says that he got stuff for even a complete new LP aside of "Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper", so releasing the newest stuff not in an LP form, but in 12"s or EP, plus some reworked songs for AC's next record, Hey! That makes the thing more dynamic.

I don't know about you guys, but I've always loved the post-LP EPs that the band has done. It gives you something to look forward to in the songs from that era that didn't get released after the album comes out. People, Water Curses, and FBK are still some of my favorite releases. I definitely missed that with CHz and would be 100% behind Noah doing that.
