It's crazy how wildly different it is from the stuff he played over the summer, not at all what I was expecting. Dude is sitting on some of the best music of his career right now.

Sinister Grift (Sonic Boom Collab)?

It really didn’t sound like Pete’s production. Just a bunch of etheral synths and heavily reversed/delayed vocals cutting in and out. Some glitches or pitch modulations on the vox iirc. No beat or drums or anything, just vocal and melody with a lot of space

edit: i could always be wrong tho

I wanna say Jeremy said it was a collab with Lifted, think he played another track by Lifted as well but could be wrong

Lifted would make sense, they have a third album coming in 2022 and Jeremy Hyman is a member of the band (and so is Co La who Avey did a remix for once)

Just checked and it seems our boy Jordan Randall has been keeping his youtube playlist up to date. So there must be a good chance he'll do the same for this once its archived.

I don't know if this has anything to do with the cameras turning off during Royal and Desire but I was there and a woman in front of me had a seizure and had to be carried out of the crowd by medics during Royal. It was an intense scene, they took off her mask and she was bleeding from the mouth. Thankfully the person that had the seizure's partner contacted me and told me that they were OK. They had medics carry her through the middle area right in front of the stage, part of me thought the boys were gonna stop playing.

Desperately trying to stay off the boots until release but so tempted to watch this.

Could just watch In The Flowers but I know if I start I'll cave and watch the whole thing.

One more listen can't hurt right?!

EDIT: watched In The Flowers then an ad came on and saved me. Close call!

Awesome to hear something so high fidelity from this era, even though its an old song.

gah, i'm caving... forgive me, foxtrot!

the mixing sounds just ever so slightly different from the stream rip. there's more reverb on everything. some details in the drums i swear weren't there before. avey's bass on car keys is thick as heck. yep, it's still great. maybe i'll just stop there, as bad as i want to hear dragon slayer i also want to wait for the studio version, especially if it's gonna be a single

random thought: they could have very easily given Doggy a trance beat and played it on the Painting With tour

Feel like they would have treated Doggy similar to they way they did Kids on Holiday on that tour, slower and more meditative

Seems like they could have added a house beat to just about any of their songs and it'd be awesome.

Speaking of which, I have added tons and tons or remasters of live sets and radio performances to my thread over yonder if any of you are interested

Could someone please clear this up for me as to whether this is a remaster, reissue, or if they are actually recording the songs again? STGSTV has had like 5 retrospective reissues on discogs, so I don't see the need of doing it again (again...) until I get my 1999 Panda Bear.

I really wonder what the remaster of Spirits will entail. The sound of the recording is so unorthodoxed, it basically stands on its own with no objective direction for the ideal master like with more conventional bands. Everything is so brittle and dry, to try and inject any modernity is going to make it sound very different. And it's not like the tapes needed cleaning or anything. Maybe they're just going to do some more limiting to bring up the volume a bit while taming the treble? If that's all they did and included some demos, I'd be super stoked.
