and yeah thanks for screenshoting and uploading these jetski!
i'm listening to the album and reading along with these at the same time and it's a trip!
edit: i just figured out an even better way of putting it, this is essentially the lyrical equivalent of a DVD commentary track lol

ID WAGER IM IN IT and I OWN A CAR is so fking hilarious, also the callbacks like no ones watching are so fking funny...this also made me realize how ingenious home free last lyric is...first lyric on album talks about circles and cycles, then last lyric is "see you around"....love it

i just can't get over how so much of what he is saying is meant to be uplifting, inspiring, and reassuring, album is so full of good vibes it's bursting with joy, even the bits that dwell on difficult stuff like bad habits and impulses tend to have triumphant, uplifting endings
also all the times he just says "makes me smile" and "makes me smile a little bit"

moop, i am not certain but, Noah seems to be very welcoming of people hearing and vibing with more than just one set of words per song!
One of the most fascinating aspects of the vocal-trading era, whether his own songs or Painting With, is how sometimes listening can bring up entire words and sentences that are not necessarily in the recording itself, kind of like an inverse magic eye poster, in that there is not a printed result!

nice interview:
https://hhhhappy.com/panda-bear-on-how- ... squidward/
it has this cool tidbit tho: The Buoys tuning of the guitar was exactly the same as I had for Sung Tongs.

also:
NOAH: I guess that… I mean, I’ve been writing a whole bunch of new stuff over the last couple of months and it definitely sounds like an extension of Buoys, although there’s less guitar going on. But I guess the new stuff is gonna feel somehow tied to Buoys. I’m not sure if the Animal Collective stuff will. That’s what’s sort of exciting about it. It produces results that I would never think of on my own. But the next solo thing will probably feel like an… well I’m guessing that it’ll probably feel like an extension of Buoys.

"I have this vision of doing things like Violent Femmes, something like that. Acoustic guitars with a bass player and a drummer, a simple kit. Maybe I can get that together, but this year’s going to be more Animal Collective-focused. I doubt I’ll get to that until next year."
fuck yes please !

that would so weird but amazing. I'm so used to the idea of a Panda Bear show as him singing over 2 samplers but it would be really interesting to see what he could do with a live band

That would be the coolest fucking shit. Panda's slasher flicks! I wonder who would be in the band? Tbh I wouldn't be surprised if it was dude from ponytail/ slasher flicks since he was in AC on the last tour. Panda and deakin on guitar, me on bass...

cool to hear him mention he thinks this year will end up being about AC music / AC touring??
at least, thats what im extrapolating form " Maybe I can get that together, but this year’s going to be more Animal Collective-focused. I doubt I’ll get to that until next year."

just going back to the lyric commentary stuff real quick, i also think it's funny that in the past 10 years of discussion on this forum i feel like there were instances of people being like 'is ____ animal collective song/this lyric about sex?' etc and people would be quick to be like 'uh i don't think so, it's clearly something deeper/more high brow/a metaphor etc' then panda's commentary on the buoy lyrics is like "these are all sexual allusions" lol i love it
of course the exception to this would be guy eyes, i think there was always a general consensus about that lol

lol yeah I love that too
I also love IMPULSES IN THE DRIVERS SEAT. What impulses?? Is that sexual too? Whatever it is it's great

you would think with the ridiculous shipping Domino charges it wouldn't take a week for a pre-order to get from MI to MN
but maybe thats just me

yeah it makes sense that the people who immediately pre order directly from the artist don't get a release until after it's been out for a couple of days

30 minutes from ann arbor. I'd of went to pick the shit up myself to save it from a detour to shittsburgh (no offense PA friends, I used to live there, and don't because...)
