I like how this is kind of like a different approach. I mean according to the band they recycled some sounds from past tour if im getting that right and this is the result. They took these sounds and created four brilliant songs. The best part how they released it hours before launch. Still basking in the glory that is their latest and greatest while we still can. Anyway been listening to this like every day. They didnt bring anything new to the table in terms of sound or even lyrically and im just stating the obvious , but you can only reinvent yourself so many times in life. This last tour proved they still got it , the ability to create different sounds and still sound fresh 20 years later ...

and not to sound like the super greedy fan that I am, but I think it does make sense to put a little ribbon on last year's EP before announcing the new LP as a way of being like 'hey remember, we ARE still a band that makes music, and made a lil EP last year that probably a lot of people slept a lil on and new shit is about to be announced!"

my sense was the opposite, sadly enough. them putting out this video + the old panda/deaking jams on bandcamp felt like they're saying "we're not quite ready but here's something for you while everyone else puts out stuff" (seems like rn is the time labels are announcing for music i pay attention to. new amen dunes was just announced today, big red machine the other day)
