I literally got wronged by this place in this city. They charged so much and did not make the orders correctly... and they fucked up cutting the bagel... HOW DO U FUCK UP CUTTING A BAGEL HAHAHA. Just had one for breakfast with bresaola and horseradish. It's emphatically not breakfast food, I can't deny it, but it was damn good, bagel gang.

Bagels are the worst type of bread up there with big ass pretzels. They suck cuz what other bread do you HAVE to cook again to eat. Like yea plain toast is better than a slice of plain bread. But only a “raw” bagel is inedible. Cream cheese is the worst kinda dairy too. It’s like between sour cream and goat cheese which are both better. Bagels and pretzels suck and the only reason they’re so popular is they never go bad and cuz nobody In the Western Hemisphere besides Louisiana has good bread across every type of bread. There’s a place near me that is the bakery to a large restaurant as well as several other large restaurants. They operate a coffee shop out the front where they sell the shit. On the shelf they have bagels AND biscuits and you know what sells more? The biscuits cuz it’s a fundamentally better bread for breakfast. This proves my theory that if society wasn’t so shackled to the fucked up concepts of “punk ty laity” and “profitability” and “shelf life” we wouldn’t have to grow to love shitty peasant food like a sad ass waxy bagel

I cut open a croissant and put cheddar cheese and smoked ham in the flap, and a thin spread of Dijon mustard, then put it in a pre-heated oven for five minutes. After I eat it, I make another because it's incredibly good.

Warmed up to the idea of a pretzel at a movie bc it's such a quiet snack. Agree cream cheese is terrible though, don't think there's anything you could blend it up in to redeem it. Think I'm retconnning an earlier take about butter but I don't care.

There used to be this Vietnamese lady who ran a tiny little sundry shop in the elevators at my office. And she would show up early in the morning with real food like eggs and fruit and baked goods. And I don’t like to show up to work much earlier than 9am but some days I’d realize I was gonna be there early enough to get to have my choice of what she had brought. I’d start to think of the croissants she would bring and how at the end of eating it I’d gather the little gold flakes left in the wrapper for one last taste of it. I’d speed up and disregard the hazards of traffic, street washers, sleepy roosted pigeons and their droppings overhead, and the congregation of cigarette smokers that always got in the way of the buildings side entrance, I’d blast thru all of them. So many of those sprints ended in disappointment, all the croissants had been taken, and I’d be stuck with nothing but an everything BAGEL with cream cheese and a long day ahead of me in a fluorescent air conditioned DUNGEON
