Noah told me he wasn't going to be playing any Tomboy stuff for APF but that he will probably bring it out for the rest of the dates. He also told me that Sonic Boom wasn't going to be there because he was currently mixing the record, but it's possible I misunderstood his response to my question.
From the Austin Psych thread, album potentially recorded and being mixed as we speak?
Let us know if you can share any updates with us Pete

For reals? I hear it differently. Its an ode to love for me. As cliché as it sounds. But then again i dont know the lyrics. But the tone of the song is so sweet. I find.

I don't know how similar the final release will be to the lyrics as they've been interpreted so far, but they seemed to be unchanged at APF. Definitely not his cheeriest or most optimistic moment lyrically.

Yeee, I recently saw Noah perform this at austin psych fest- it was fantastic. Sad.. but fantastic. Definitely walked away feeling melancholy and wondering if he is okay, personally.

I was right in the front row during psych fest. It was especially intense for me being my first time seeing panda bear live. All I kept thinking was how crazy the visuals tied into his songs felt very conceptual. Also got me excited for whatever animal collective might do next considering the feel of the songs very large eerie and bassy. P.s aveys set killed too felt a little short though.

eyy, same! I was front + center. we probably saw each other.
I really loved the visuals until the aliens started writhing on the screen, that freaked me out a little.
(avey's set was amaaazing, I was front row there too. they actually were cut short, I saw him run up to the others to change the last song after a tech told him 5 more minutes. wonder what the skipped song was.)

Scooter- The hype is real. That show definitely set expectations his new stuff combines everything he's done so far really well while also adding in a new kind atmosphere. Its much more synthetic sounding without being un emotive.

Holding off on bootlegs, but I can't stop listening to Cosplay.

i've held off this whole time pretty much except for Spaces, but now I've been listening to Principe and Vacuum from the boot, and like, dang, this album might be pretty freakin amazing. feel like it could potentially overtake my favorite ac lp.
even though this is more of a pp set up, i feel like its like next level tomboy, in terms of the way the songs are structured and the tone of them. It kind of makes some aspects of tb seem transitional in a way

@wheeter and sputnik - I was the girl in the AC "bees" shirt in the front/center. I got there absurdly early as well, now I'm sad we didn't talk, heheh. we could have nerded out over the impending panda. sputnik if you were the headbanging girl then I'm pretty sure I saw you.

All the songs that have been posted all sound sooo good. I wasn't expecting Panda to do much changes, since the trend for the past couple projects was to keep the stuff mostly the same from the live to studio transition.
But just in a year's time, I feel that Panda has done a great job polishing all the songs and just getting the best out of them. The studio treatment should work more of it's magic on them as well.
is there a boot yet floating around of the show Panda just played?

Thanks for the upload! I think people are calling it "Can't go back" or "No joke", mostly the first one.

That tweaked Can't Go Back actually sounds a little... eh idk. feel like the song has more potential. Still think its cool that ive been obsessed for years with that exact chord progression from that amazing Nutcracker song he's using..hive mind.. Vacuum seems kind of nxt lvl. like all of the sudden he's ss3 via that one

I had forgotten until I saw that video how the track dropped out at that one point. Anybody think that was on purpose for emphasis, or did he just hit the wrong button?
and also, yeah, that's the first time that my ears heard it as "all in the family".
New album title: "Panda Bear Meets Meathead"
