No, just remembered A Sender. That's brilliant.
They're pretty good at openers, aren't they?
You're sleeping on "FloriDada", chump!
I listened to
Buoys a couple of times yesterday. Not really enjoying it so far, but I'm gonna listen a few more times before deciding if I really like or dislike it. I find it hard to get into the songs because they seem aimless and overly repetitious to me, but his vocals and the production techniques he's using (autotune, acoustic guitars with hella echo effects, chirping synths) are keeping me interested enough to keep coming back. "Dolphin" is definitely a good song, though, I'll say that.

I like to wait the official release in this case. Partly because i like the idea of submit myself to this rhetoric of "waiting like the good old times" that fit very good to the age of our very old fans. But also cause after hearing Dolphin i had the sensation that this new material is super deep, "silent" and cryfor-focus-listening at odds to the last "screaming" things they make. And i have the sensation it fit very well on the experience of put a vinyl on the stereo.

Cranked is so fucking good, it's gradually reaching the same level as Token and IKIDK for me. might be my fav use of vocal fx on the album next to the delay on Home Free.

Agreed! Didn't vibe with cranked at all in first listen, now it gets stuck in my head all the time. The delay is dope too! (I believe I made a post a while ago complaining about the delay. I take it back)

why do noah's lyrics always feel like a sneak-diss or he's about to leave the band?

any other good tidbits in there?
apparently he said he and the band are regrouping in the summer to work on new material? which we sort of already knew but yeah.

Hm, if I remember correctly they began work on the centipede hz material in January 2011 and began touring as early as April that year. Maybe we could see a new AC tour by this fall?

maybe, i think it depends on if they are getting together to write or to record (or both), in that instance they had just written the record in that sessions but recorded it after that first tour, if i remember correctly
may be an unpopular opinion but i was kind of hoping panda would sit out this next album cycle, just because i love the material so much as it is and can't really imagine some of the tracks with panda contributions (exceptions being downdowndowndown, tri kid, maybe prestor john). i just want defeat / paper hearts / magicians from baltimore left alone really. and for some reason it's hard to imagine additional panda tracks side by side with those songs. then again, if you asked me way back when, i'd say i couldn't envision panda contributions to mountain game after listening to the 2011 avey boots so much but i ended up loving the final product a lot so who knows

As long as he keeps the autotune out of it I think it will turn out ok.

I kind of get this vibe with all of his stuff lol. I just assume there's no way every song he's writing about concerns the bros and I'm just imagining things

I was really shocked while I was listening to "Inner Monologue" when he said, "Wake up from a nap, be glad that I'm not in Animal Collective anymore".
I wonder what he meant by this????

Got my friend into Token by trying to deduce “A slap on a jelly ass” as a lyricical allusion. He likes the song now

had kind of a wild moment after listening to that kyle meredith interview where he asks if there'll be a studio version of atiba song cause in my head i was like "isn't that just what 'guys eyes' is" so i pulled up atiba song and NO it turns out 'song for ariel' is the early version of 'guys eyes' and atiba song is an entirely different song i've apparently never listened to despite seeing the name for years since i guess i just lumped the two together and never made the connection that they're separate
it's a really good song though I'm glad i got to hear it now

That interview is absolutely fantastic. dude's a true fan, or at least way better at researching than every other interviewer I've seen. Hearing pb talking about getting back together with ac got me real pumped

“Could there be an array of
buoys that serves as a network of relay stations or road posts, defining the average galactic frame of reference in interstellar space?“
From this piece in
Scientific American:
https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/ob ... -oumuamua/
Kinda fits the ice-y, inhuman vibe of this record, no? Buoys in space. Similar to his ocean anecdote about the record. I feel like Noah would approve of this imagery. And this intergalactic visitor.

ikidk makes me feel things and i think that only those without a body, a body without a warm place, a ear connected to a warm place, can listen to "thaaaat's thaaat" and not tremble in there.
the whole album is an affecting body acting on our affected bodies. it's full of desire, pleasure and sorrow (Spinoza's basic "affectus").
sometimes I wish he had made a different album, one that sounded less restrained, more like the live versions, mixing these songs with the Homies' songs. it would have been less painful, more joyful. but then we wouldn't have this album, and this... this is sublime.

also, no one mentioned the interview with Red Bull Radio (starts at around 58:00). it's quite good, and you can listen to Inner Monologue.

Overall my feelings about Buoys are mixed, especially Master and IKIDK which are kind of monotonous... but the rest of it is perfect, especially the first 3 tracks, title track, and Crescendo (which I heard some people are dissing wtf)
