I've gotta admit the two ambient songs don't do it for me at all. I'm not 100% sold on the mix either, it feels at bit too loud, swampy and abrasive at points. The track lengths are the other thing that bother me, there's a lot of repetition where it's not really needed imo. It works with Good House as there's a gradual build, but there's no reason why Just Am couldn't have been chopped in half. I'm not sure I understand the point of the bonus tracks either.

That all said, I love the album(?) so it's not a big deal.

Oh wow, so right. I just have to BE! That is what I was missing all along. BEING. Wow, what a fuck up I am. I thought I was critically analyzing an important piece of art for me, but no, I wasn't BEING.

I wish Good House had more bangin beats. The drums are so muted/muffled on it it reminds me of what I don't like about Tomboy.

I think the drums could have sounded bigger on Footy too

When listening to Just Am I find myself air-drumming to a beat that isn't there

Some drum covers would actually be pretty cool, but I also like how Deakin almost uses drums just for texture rather than to make the song bump in the whip. Kinda like what AC will do with vocals, but interestingly Deakin inverted that as well by making the lyrics more prominent. I think that's my favorite aspect of the album over all. These songs seem so very personal, and are actually hitting me the way Person Pitch did the first time, where each song sounds like a struggle I know all too well.

Also, I like that Deakin's a baritone so I can comfortably sing to more AC-material.

honestly Avey's voice has always seemed on the low end too but he just belts everything??

that's just judging from his speaking voice compared to Panda's and Geologist's

and I think I'm just in a place at the moment where I think everything that could bump in the whip should bump in the whip

It's kind of amazing that the only complaint about this is some little mixing problems and some other little things. How long since almost every one digged an Anco related record liked that. Maybe it's because we know Deakin have been pretty active here so people don't want to be harsh or something, but I don't think so.

Also feel so blessed that from now on we are going to have album from Deakin, Panda Bear, Avey Tare and Animal Collective !

I think they just mean they are nitpicky and are carelessly throwing around terms relating to serious mental illnesses cause that is ok I guess

anyway footy is becoming my favourite on this, the explosions of instrumentation and josh's vocal delivery are really doing it for me

Haha yes, this.

Also I love how Good House is great mainly because of the vocals, so props to Deakin for that. I'd never heard any bootlegs of Good House before and holy dooley the studio version blew (blows) my mind.

That would be like chopping my heart in half. I wish this song could go on forever. I was driving to work this morning with the sun beaming through the clouds while Just Am was playing and I didn't want to be anywhere else on the planet.

Thank you so much for this Josh!

Yes, leave Just Am alone! Easily my favorite of the bunch. I was immediately drawn to this song from the first listen. If anything, it could be longer. Tranced out to this jam.

Did someone post pictures of the cassette and everything that came from the Kickstarter package? If so, I missed it.

Exactly the same this morning! That sunrise comin from the East and just driving on the highway to this song put me in a great mood. Still humming it 4+ hrs later.

This album is truely magical and exceded all of my expectations. Josh did us good, fam.

Just a reminder now that this is available widely, if you plan on buying a digital download I believe Bandcamp is the best option as far as profits reaching the actual artist compared to other streaming sites / stores.

hey CA,

So today being the official release day I wanted to pop in and say that I really appreciate the reactions you guys have had. here and elsewhere I have been hearing some really meaningful things said about the impact this music is having on some of you. I really don't care about the comparisons good or bad to anything me or my band have done. that stuff is really just... well that's just like your opinion man..... hehe. but to those of you who have told me that you have felt things emotionally or personally or psychologically from listening to this music. that you have felt supported or moved. there truly could not be a better gift I could have imagined for having finished this thing. i know this record will not be for everyone and can surely be picked apart by many. but the fact that it has already touched so many people in ways that have brought tears to my eyes. thank you.
peace and gratitude.

Josh is so damn cool. Can't believe how lucky we are as fans to have such a cool musician come onto a fan board and share real actual thoughts and emotions.

Josh this music is so good that it bright tears to my eyes. My wife and I just stared at eachother in awe as we listened to the record together for the first time last night! Golden Chords and Good House are the prettiest things like....ever. Those broken chords turned gold.
