Man, the melodies are so good on this crop of tracks that it’s starting to unlock some heretofore unfavourable cuts from the canon. I’ve been quite the detractor of Rosie Oh for as long as I’ve been a fan… but it’s been stuck in my head all day today. What the hell is going on? Am I gonna start jamming out to Painting With in two weeks time?

also love his abstract lyrics, I've talked about it before so won't harp on too much.
Rosie oh is an interesting point of comparison, I see ferry lady being similar in that narrative vein.
The abstract style that began with Grim Reaper really crystallised with homies/buoys. I see ends meet as a continuation of that.
SG generally seems to be taking that style that he honed in on and reintroducing more personal elements, exemplified in defense

Yes! And it’s such a great blend and natural progression. Some of that Grim Reaper/Homies/Inner Monologue vague lyricism was a little too simplistic for my tastes, but it feels so vivid now.

That’s the natural journey of an AnCo fan… you solve old puzzles and unlock new solace in life. Embrace it ❤️

Toronto show was great. Loved the random nature of songs played and the way they were reworked for the full band

just listened. not an interview, just a 30 min guest mix with zero talking from panda.
features the usual suspects like cindy lee, SOTB, pB&dean, good sad happy bad.
decent mix but maybe not a lot of thought went into it.
starts at 1:33:00 for those interested

Looks like Panda started selling Playstation-inspired hats at the NYC show. Would anyone be willing to pick one of these up for me? I don't know how much they cost, but I'll pay you for the hat, shipping and your time, of course.

Spoiler: show
I caught Panda’s set last night, great show. His warbled, overdriven guitar tone stayed consistent throughout the whole set, giving it a really cohesive, rock band feel. But because of that, there wasn’t a ton of sonic diversity like you’d usually expect from one of his shows.

He played ‘Ferry Lady,’ and the guitar tone was so different from the studio recording that it really made me think that Sinister Grift might sound completely different from the unreleased songs he’s been playing live.

Seems like the live setup is its own thing and the album could be a whole different experience. Really don’t know what to expect.

just wait til 50mg is a somber keyboard-led song on the album lol

____________

new review!

"Perfectly sequenced, Sinister Grift’s dubious uplift gradually falls away to reveal an exquisite melancholy introspection, the sound of optimism weighted by mooring hooks of sadness."

I'M SO BUMMED THIS WINTER STORM KEPT ME FROM THE SHOW IN RALEIGH AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Hope everyone else has enjoyed their new year and the shows they've been able to get to. Seems like one of, if not, his best tours ever. The setlists look insane.

looks like a version exists on bitchute but is password protected. readme asks you to go to a ZTA link to get the password but impossible to verify. feels like trash bait. but the album previews are there before the password and the zip file is 89 mb.
sorry mods idk if i'm overstepping with this comment

edit: most certainly a scam.
