took a break from this album for about a month to finish up with 2018 music and am now back at it, falling in love with it all over again. it's currently tied with Person Pitch as my favorite PB solo album, and "Token" is up there with "Bros" in the running for best PB solo track. also really into "Cranked" and "Home Free" this time around

Some live questions:

Are the songs from the live boots called Woken, Garage, Sabbath, Calling In Sick on the album under different names?

lol

that moment where he sings a little bit ...

edit : It's almost as if Domino stopped caring about the record and told Noah :"do whatever the fuck you want" so he released a lil video for us

It's Noah in his practice space strumming out an early version of Inner Monologue. Acoustic guitar with a delay effect on it. Tappin his foot. Very pretty and simple

Love the video.

I loved the grim reaper practice sets. Those actually get more play than the album for me personally because I just love the live transitions so much.

I would love to have practices of the homies and bouy's stuff. Domino/Panda if you see this I will pay to hear that stuff!

I find it interesting that Token has a Shepard Tone but the song Shepard Tone from Homies does not

Also that video is really neat, hope we get more

If the official release doesn't have the skip on I Know I Don't Know I'm suing Domino for hurting my feelings

Shepard tone is a note that gives the illusion that it's continuously rising or falling https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shepard_tone

That one sound in Token does feel like it keeps going up and up. There's also a Shepard tone in one section of Swallow at the Hollow

I know, I thought Noah's 'ooooooooohhhh' in the bridge sounded like it was constantly rising but maybe not I guess

i'd be cool with token or buoys as a single, vaguely cliche but i think buoys might be my favorite on the album and potentially his best song

omg a b-side would be massive. come to think of it, pbvsgr and sort of tomboy (Preakness and sorta atiba) had a bunch of b-sides. homies almost feel like the b-sides even tho they're almost completely different. they feel more like noisy takes on the reaper vibe than anything like this.. a weird bridge between the last trilogy of LPs and this

but ya it should prbly just be Buoys, the single I mean. Or Master, or Cranked or Token or even IKIDK

this lp is kind of like Frank Ocean's blondes, not just cuz it's prbly my favorite LP since then, but they both have this glossy minimalism-but-still-detailed thing going on where they mix electronic sounds/production with guitar and it all feels pretty lsd-inspired and there are reoccurring themes about escapism, weed, escapism with technology? and I think there was something else I noticed but can't think of now

another single would be nice, but nobdoy but you guys have anything of worth to say about these songs

I dunno, I sense some sincerity in it. I love Dean Blunt and all his projects, and based on the wackness of his music, I'd say it's not a stretch that he took one too many and is feeling kinda bonkers. I dunno if it was a joke or not but I took it as real and it is really sweet and caring. If true, I really hope Dean can regain some memory soon.

For those who have never heard of Dean Blunt I recommend "Stone Island" and "The Redeemer", then "Find Out What Happens When People Stop Being Polite, and Start Gettin' Reel" as Hype Williams

Hahaha. What a brilliant video. It's absolutely a joke but I love how straight he plays it. It's so so English in humour and I love all that shit fairground stuff. The shooting gallery bit was great, he seemed genuinely disappointed. I also loved the sync of the little goalies moving with the music. Really made me laugh. I also loved how the thing which finally made him smile was some stupid little animals in vehicles. Made me smile too.
