It's gonna be a strange new era indeed :D

maybe we should make up titles anyway.

Brothersport II is such a jam! I hope the studio version does the song justice...

'Sweet Corn' sounds a little sloppy but I feel like they could really pull it off with some tight production

I wasn't expecting Animal Collective to go into grindcore-title territory with "Ben Allen (the Third) Fucked Up Our Last Album, Fuck Him" but it certainly was a pleasant surprise

Love how they've returned to truly long-form songwriting with 'Deakin's abscess probably requires dental treatment' and 'eating a burrito with a pitchfork'

I'll be devastated if they cut "deak's solo album is actually coming!"

Apparently "Fogging It Up" is the only track on the album that features Deakin

not sure why "Ronald Reagan" needed to be nine minutes long or why Noah felt the need to soapbox about the fall of capitalism mid-song but i support you buddy

i'm not really sure if i like this? i mean, i dig "watch me whip/nene" as much as the next guy, but an entire side of an album dedicated to covering it??

I was so stoked when I saw the closer was called Avey's Singing Voice. Just 11 minutes of silence and then a cough at the end c'mon man.

I wasn't expecting Panda to write a sequel to Guys Eyes in the form of "I Want to Masturbate to My Wife but The Other Guys Are Right Here" but it might just be my favorite PB cut from the album

Sorry to say but Rusty pulled a total Allen on 'GLOBAL FUCK FEST PART DEUX'. Where's the breathing space? Doesn't even compare to the live version I've never heard.

What do ye think of that 25-minute interlude bang in the middle of the album where the lads all sit around bitching about Deakin, unaware that the mic was left on? Have to say it got really awkward about thirty seconds in and that awkwardness never let up. Noah has an absolutely filthy mouth. Christ, and at around seventeen minutes when Deakin walks in and they're all like 'oh hey man, what's up, we were just shooting the shit' and then he leaves again and Geo's like 'man my solo album is practically finished' and they all burst out laughing and start chanting 'kickstarter, kickstarter'. And then it ends with them burning a Deakin effigy in the studio and it gets muffled cos Avey knocks the mic over in a drunken stupor, but they appear to make a blood pact of some kind. Some dark, unnerving shit. Can see why they included it though

the most frustrating part is that the next side is just another 15 or so minutes of crying. it's not even credited to anyone. spooky

lol this album is turning into a creepypasta now

i found my copy at a yard sale. ANIMAL COLLECTIVE LP 10 was written on the front of an otherwise blank vinyl sleeve in felt pen. The seller looked at me and said, "You don't want to buy this..." but I knew I had to. I paid him and left...

I still dunno how you guys managed to get your hands on normal-sounding versions of the songs... all I have is the official versions which are not only in reverse, but upside down, inside-out and 1,000th speed. It took me weeks to get through this damn thing.

i just can't get behind "die motherfucker, you don't belong in the zoo." first off, i'm not sure how much i want to support this whole animal collective "zoo" rebranding, and secondly, i don't know if i dig the drastic shift to gansta rap. i mean, avey's flow is on point, but panda spits exclusively about skateboards, and geo just simulates noises in a rhythmic fashion that sort of resembles someone rapping (only with a mouth full of screws). an interesting sonic experiment surely but not something i'd listen to very often

Anyone else get hit with the Brownian noise during the short interlude 'Trouser Snake'? It's short, maybe only three seconds long but I fucking shat myself. Completely ruined my pair of jeans

Spoiler: show
you're thinking of the "brown note". Brownian noise aka red noise is just pink noise (which is just white noise with more bass) with more bass
