This is the ultimate greaper playlist I made with transitions put in meant to emulate the live shows.
Has anybody seen the "Unchained" Daft Punk documentary? There's some sweet footage early on of the young them (aka Darlin') covering "How You Satisfy Me" live. Pretty cool! I love thinking about synchronicity, so.... Sonic Boom/Spectrum--Darlin'--becomes Daft Punk--PB loves Daft Punk (that t shirt photo of his)--SB works with PB on Tomboy--PB Does It Right with Daft Punk--SB/PB knock it out the park with GR
If I could, I would show a circle map of SB-DP-PB going round and around.

Hi Pete, on a tangent, I saw a Spectrum cover of 'True Love Will Find You In The End' on a compilation recently and really enjoyed it. Are you a Daniel Johnston then? I heard a kind of country cover by Papa M (one of the guys from Tortoise) before I knew who the original was by and it blew me away in my early teens. I'd forgotten all about it until I came across your version the other day. Amazing song.

Yo stan
Yeah , i love DJ .....
I did that in '90 or '91 right when it came out on his 1990 lp - pure ore...
Dave Pajo is a good egg too . I toured with him / tortoise when i was playing with Stereolab in the mid '90's .
Aerial M were great live as well .....
Daniel has a suite way of saying prosaic things beautifully....
Good times ......

Ha, wow, that map just got a few more interconnecting paths on it. Anyway, it's one of my favourite songs in whichever version but great to hear yours, it's like gently overpowering, gorgeous noise. I never knew you played with Stereolab either, also love a bit of them (and kraut full stop, German or otherwise). I haven't listened to Tortoise in ages but I'm going to play Djed now in bed and get onto them tomorrow. I'll have to try Aerial M, too. Thanks very much for all the info.

Two questions Sonic if you see this (one PB related, one Sonic Boom related.)
Did Panda ever use the Octatrack as composition tools on PBvGR or did he just use them Live in "DJ mode?" The reason why I ask is because I just got one and have been making some really weird sampled sequences and have been loving the results and I knew he used them live with Stem Tracks from the Music Radar story (http://www.musicradar.com/news/tech/in- ... dio-615651)
Thanks and hope all is well! Are you working on any solo stuff that we should know about?

someone on the subreddit interviewed panda bear! It's kind of messy because it's translated from portugese, but it's worth reading:

PB: We had the most extensive demos this time. The original idea was to do 9 songs a piece. We only ended up doing 8 but it turned out to be more than enough. "Golden Gal" was a song he had written before we had started working on stuff. I started January 1st last year and worked until mid-February and then I had demo recordings of all my songs. I kinda wanna put them out at some point because I feel like they're cool different versions of the songs.
Jus gonna put this gem of info out there..... maybee Petek could mention how a few fans would love to hear this
Hope you're well Pete & somewhere in the GZ, we're still keen for that 10yo EARworm you were plottin in the Crosswords thread......
Much love, vibes & ellipsisesess......

Sorry for bumping this thread but I am really loving listening to the Rehearsal versions of PBVGR and have been playing it non-stop this week. I wonder if he recorded any soundboard of the live shows because I feel like his live versions of these songs are so brilliant. I would pay some good money even if it was only a digital only release. (a live performance video with danny's visuals would be a dream come true) Chicago blew me away both times I got to see the live show.
Also, that being said I feel like I have been really enjoying Panda a lot during the Painting With Tour. He has been super expressive with his vocal parts and I feel like its in part inspired by how he stretched himself so much on PBVGR to go outside his comfort zone and try some new things.
Thank you Noah and thank you Pete for all the wonderful sounds/secrets/additional info/inspiration you were able to share with us. I will be listening to all of this stuff until my eventual exit from this plane of existence.
