I'd be perfectly okay with only ever saying their name like Michael Winslow did at Bonnaroo

Was going back to read the P4K Guest List from the Year End of 2008 and this is what HEALTH said in regards to Water Curses.

If you don't like this song, yr a fucking idiot. A burrito, wrapped in a burrito, in the heart of yet another burrito. The latest mind-grinder from the great band of our time.

The burrito analogy is officially born!!!!

"a burrito within a burrito within the heart of that same burrito" sounds like some serious 4th dimension shiz

that's two burritos, each one inside the other right?

I think these burritos might have to be vaguely Klein bottle shaped

had a dream that me and brint were at an AC concert and they were playing all new material. Avey and Panda were both playing guitar, and Geologist had two turntables (hip hop style). Guess Deakin wasn't in the band for their new material. I remember all their new songs were really weird, but kinda underwhelming, like I was waiting for something that was really good, but everything was just kinda half-there.

At one point Panda sits behind a piano and starts to play Chores, but then switches after the first bar of the song to something different, and Brints all like "YES I CANT BELIEVE HES PLAYING THIS" - and I was like yeahhhhhh, but really I had no idea what song he was playing and felt kinda stupid and hurt.

Guys, I just had the most incredible idea: Campfire Songs arranged for strings. Just imagine it.

A lot of string quartet arrangements are also super cheesy to me, but for some reason I'm really enjoying imagining a string arrangement of Two Corvettes.

does anything think noah's chorus in my girls is basically him saying that he wants to support his family well so he decided to make a really catchy song with his band that he might not have made otherwise if he hadnt wanted to try and get more money for "adobe slats". so hes sort of excusing the super accessible tone but it's coded

lol no

why would anyone in AC make music expecting it to get them more $$$ than any other song, or apologise for how their music sounds

and no I really think he just made the song he wanted to and by the time the studio version came out it just happened to be "cool".
#hashtagagreeingwithhashman
like this song really wasn't cool till it was cool ya know?

How has your work changed as your family has grown and since you've had kids?

I think the only way, besides kind of providing fodder for songs — like lyrics and the meanings of songs — is how seriously I approach the stuff in terms of not wanting to slack at all. I feel like I'm wary of the fact that, having a family and being more concerned about finances, there's certainly the temptation to make things that other people are really gonna like, so you can support your family in a more comfortable way. But I'm not smart enough to really think that way. I kind of just try to do things that I like but try to do them in the most bulletproof way, in terms of just making things as good as they can be and hope that people like them.

Non sequitur. I was just listening to Visiting Friends, and the last few minutes are kind of krautrock-y, once there's a steady beat in the guitar and samples. Have you guys ever picked up on that vibe before? I just thought it now.

I think they were definitely going for an acoustic take on repetitive electronic-ish stuff like that or something

it's "four walls and adobe slabs/slats" but he's already mentioned the walls so it makes more sense to me for him to mention a roof rather than slabs which sounds more like wall material anyway
