Just want to reiterate that the ATP rehearsal versions of Lisbon Zoo and Jabberwocky go harder than most things on this planet and the studio versions are wonderful songs to bump in the car on the way to work. Thankful for all the goodies we got this rollout :^)
I was just listening to Swallow while cooking dinner and it made me realise that this is the most fertile and insightful era of these guys that we may ever get to experience. Despite my minor gripes which seem to have rung louder than my praise over recent months, I know how much we owe to Sonic Boom over the last few years. So, thank you again, Pete.
I second that. thanks Pete! Your posts on the forum are always hilarious and provide details, insights, CLUES, and tidbits that few artists' fans get access to on forums.
Stan, I also agree that this is a super prolific time for these guys and, for me personally, the most exciting time since 2007 as a fan of AC and it's members, which has me geeking in ways that I didn't imagine an older me would be. This is just off the top of my head, but i think it's most of the stuff since 2014 we've gotten:
atsf
slasher house cd/lp
videos, tour/bootlegs
dj sets/bootlegs
avey
chants for winter
dj sets
geo
stretching songs
dj sets
panda
mr noah ep
pbvsgr cd/lp, box set
crosswords ep
Mix Tix
Swallow at the hollow
Mix for Cosplay including sample, voxless mixes/versions for acid wash, untying the knot
ATP rehearsal tapes
tour/bootlegs, videos
deakin
dj sets/bootlegs album of some sorts
book
shoes
animal collective
Live at 9:30 3XLP + Poster
Michael, Remember + Video
Floridada single and video Painting with
7"
2 more songs

that's a ton of awesome stuff, not even including
...and as PW is wrapped can we presume Panda is working on his new cuts?

Just want to join the chorus and say how amazing it's been going on this ride with everyone over the last year and a half or so. P&N really came through hard on this one.
Here's what ended up being my fav as far as sequencing goes:
1. No man's Land
2. Mr. Noah
3. Boys Latin
4. Crosswords
5. Butcher, Baker Candlestick Maker
6. Come to Your Senses
7. Faces in the Crowd
8. Tropic of Cancer
9. This Side of Paradise
10. Lonely Wanderer
11. Selfish Gene
12. Cosplay
I audio jiggered a few intros and outros in, namely the extended intro for Faces in the Crowd and the THX ending for Selfish Gene, but that's more of a product of my boredom than anything. For the most part it's the same as the official article.
I can't wait for the next one

the pbvsgr remix ep is so great. i especially love pete rock's crosswords, andy stott's boys latin, and the container version of mr noah. container's album from last year is incredible if you liked the mr noah remix. but to comment on that track alone, combining pb's vocals with container's bare bones, paranoid music is such a cool combo
PBvsGR already feels like an "old" classic record, like Person Pitch or Feels, I feel like Ive known it for so long. Maybe it has something to do with the boots and the live (Ive seen him in 2013/14/15)
Such a Special album to me(and to most of you).
I feel kind of sad that I won't be able to see him play that setlist again. Those songs, Selfish gene/nadir, tropic, come to your senses ... Pure magic
ed: But Floridada got me so Hyped and I got tickets for 2 shows on the Painting Tour so life is Goood !
Sonic Boom was in a residence here in Portugal last year, they posted now this documentary about his time in the city of Braga, pretty nice sounds and conversations (panda is mentioned):
I liked that SB is a fan of the sound of lawnmowers. A lot of the times I'm woken up by lawnmowers on a summer's morning and resent them, but once I'm up that sound motivates me to get outside and get the day going

the bit at the beginning about favorite sounds reminds me that a couple weeks ago i was downstairs and i heard a really cool sound being made by the dish washer upstairs and i thought if you had the right equipment you could capture the sound just as i heard it and use it in a bunch of different ways. it also reminds me of that bit from the fake aphex twin interview from last year where whoever faked the interview talked about being a kid running at concrete walls while stomping and tripping out on the sounds.. and it remindeds me of this video of modeselektor doing field recordings: https://www.facebook.com/MDSLKTR/videos ... 159885977/
maybe that is where they recorded sounds for this track
and all this reminds me of the (what sounds like) rhythm sticks or those hollow blocks with echo or reverb in No Mans Land.. the one thats constant throughout the song on the quarter beats.
ive convinced myself before that AC can make any sound out of any other sound.. or that they use their voices like drums sticks to play other sounds or trigger effects.. like if they sing really loud or emphasize certain sounds they pass a threshold that triggers a series of effects. like the way they build during a song like brother sport they have to get to a certain point before they can activate certain effects and move on to the next part of the song..
anyway i think what im talking about is how awesome sounds are that are really cool and get way awesome when you amplify/effect them to "loud as fuck" levels

Still spin my TB boxset vinyl down under mayte..... The accapellas!
There's a real melancholy to the album too, it may be just what makes it so real & lasting
I can hear 'you still believe in me' in there - You can count on me...
X sending ancient good vibes from the Red Centre Zone atm
