Things I like so far:
- Creative vocal harmonies -- some of them are formant shifted or make unexpected leaps
- Heavy, blown-out bass
- The lyrics are clearly enunciated so "sock to the socket, we got a black eye" doesn't sound like "suck, suck a cock black guy" anymore
- Abrupt, jarring transitions between songs after long ambient sections
- This synth really does sound just like an air raid siren, neato (edit 3: it is a sample of an air raid siren, not a synth)
- edit: just got to the first chorus of Nod to the Folks, think you played a 45 at 33 bud (edit 4: just a little joke about how it's way lower now)
- edit 2: he's been singing nod to the folks way higher live this whole time. what a trickster. sunset prominently features an accordion (edit 5: probably a melodica, homage to dub/reggae)
- sunset is great, kind of this album's take on the twisted doo-wop idea of last night at the jetty or tropic of cancer. but the instrumental is faster & more abrasive

EP is indeed a sweet little thing, stripped down & hard-hitting, especially the bass. harmonies are delightful as always, but now i'm just repeating another poster. will be able to provide more thorough thoughts after a few spins.

These songs are rad, but even I, not being an audiophile of any sort, can tell that listening to this vinyl rip through $30 earbuds is not ideal

his voices is sounding purty af. way into vocal production/style . part of the math is like what mr noah hinted at. oh but i dont love the build up or ending with just the zelda sample/(is it his daughter? kinda lame(?)) but no his vocals are amazing. glad harmonica/accordian type samples are showing up ever since avalanches wildflower
