looks like panda is doing anco type reworks where he makes a song sound like the album hes touring rather than just playing the original song outright, which is pretty dope. makes his live sets more cohesive instead of sounding like a show of greatest hits (which are cool in their own right)

Can we talk about how HOT the new song is? I mean, damn. That's his dandciest song to date. It was probably the highlight of the night for me besides
Spoiler: show
Nautica OMG!!!!

Also, at the Boston show, Noah was extremely gracious when he paused to give a shout out to Home Blitz, who had what seems like a really rough trip through the snowstorm. They showed up to the venue super late and had to rush to set up their gear and start playing--didn't even seem to have time for a proper soundcheck. I'm sure Noah remembers what it was like to be the relatively unknown opener showing up late while most listen on disinterested, waiting for the main act. Showed a lot of class.

vid of nod to the folks i took last night! kind of solidified it as my favorite song of his, i was so giddy the entire time!
(yes the audio is distorted to hell but that's part of the charm)
really great show, no real complaints at all!

Dang snowstorm... couldn't make the trek from the north last night to see him @ the Paradise.
Soooo bummed I missed it- that setlist looks sweet.

How was the crowd? Boston shows are always interesting crowd-wise.

Can anyone confirm whether the new song was the same one he did at 9:30?

Ditto. I flew up from Austin expecting to hear Buoys but no dice. Still an amazing performance but damn it do I want to hear Buoys live in person.

It will be the highlight to every show he will ever play this song.

Also :
math

new song was the same as the 930 one!
crowd was good, wish there was more dancing though. probably looked like a fool bouncing around and singing.
opening w/crescendo was really nice, didn't miss not hearing dolphin or token, mainly due to getting buoys and jetty, which weren't played at the last paradise show

RE: the crowd, I was front row so I can't be completely accurate but when I looked back behind me it seemed marginally smaller than the last time he was at this venue about 9 months ago, but that could be completely incorrect or it could be because of the weather.

I wasn't planning on going since I was at that last show, but I saw he did Comfy in Nautica and bought a ticket. Solid set, I've now seen all the buoys and homies tracks live between those two shows.

lol, I was at the Boston show and actually thought the 930 setlist was better and wish we had that instead!
Was really hoping for "Token" since he didn't play it last time he was here... and though he played them last time I love "Dolphin", "Master", and "Flight" and would have loved to have seen them again live.
We got no PBvsGR material, which I'm kinda okay with... especially since we did get "Nautica" and "Jetty"! Didn't really hear the dub influence he's been talking about on the Buoys press tour until seeing "I Know I Don't Know" and "Crescendo" last night, SO GOOD! And I swear "Sunset" MUST be experienced live! He did play "Shepard Tone" which was great, kinda wish he split "Nod to the Folks" into two parts like he did last time but that song RIPS live.

re:crowd size... I actually was surprised at how many people turned out by the time Panda started playing granted the weather. The turnout is probably what a sold-out show should look like at the Paradise, GOD I HATE THAT PLACE! Worst venue in the city, I really hope he performs somewhere else in Boston next time he's here (though... seriously, I'm so grateful that he's come to Boston TWICE within the last 9 months! Last time Avey was supposed to play a solo set here he cornpilled the gig, and when he performed with Slasher Flicks he was sick and cut his set short... and recently didn't even schedule a gig here for his upcoming tour...)

Loathe the Paradise, too. I caught the last Paradise show, too, and was wishing he played another room. I think we luck out because he has family in Boston - so maybe it's like a family stop maybe while he's back in the states. Last time he gave a shout out to his mom, sister, and aunt - they were up on the balcony. As long as they keep coming, maybe we'll keep lucking out with PB shows in town.

Did you see AC when they played 3S in NH? It was maybe the 3rd show on the PW tour. I would love to see Panda play there. Such a small intimate venue. The strobes would kill us like a bug zapper in that small room though.

Yeah the 3S show was something special. That place holds 200 people max, at least at the time.

That was AC live experience highlight. Alvin Row! I was just remembering how my girlfriend at the time left the show during Lock Raven. She wasn't feeling the drone and ambient noice. Nice lobby they had there.

didn't someone broke up with his girlfriend because she hated Animal Collective ? (maybe it was a small reason tho)

(Now that I think about it I know who but don't want to name name).

I DID!!! Absolute BEST Animal Collective experience I've ever had! Seeing "Daily Routine" there was so unreal, and "Loch Raven"! 3S is a dream come true, I used to hang out in Portsmouth a lot with friends when I was in high school... so the fact that there's a place like that there now is really insane. It's the perfect venue scale and sound wise. I saw Shabazz Palaces there a few years back and it was equally a SICK show.

Would love to see Panda play there... or 2 nights (with 2 different sets) at Sinclair in Cambridge would be AMAZING!

She said they were 'shit' and next day I called off the engagement. Great girl though. She ended up marrying a cop twelve months later and crapped out a kid. Good luck to them.
