Did you get any official emails from holocene or ticketfly? I'm just now hearing about this - just emailed ticketfly to see about a refund i guess. What a bummer.

It really might be a creative/personal decision to not set expectations for future solo albums that there will be these longer tours.
I'm not sure how Avey would say this in writing, as much as, that he would just make the necessary adjustments to put everything in balance!
I have been waiting until mid autumn to hear the album: from what I have read, it is as incredible as Down There, so maybe he doesn't want the concerts to overtake the presence of this special, one of a kind creation between he and so many close friends?
Mad sad but I still love my rad dad. Man, that's too bad. Couldn't have been more [s]excited[/s] glad to see my [s]dude[/s] lad's ballad. Oh well, [s]cheers[/s] chad.

Cheers, mate. I honestly thought about that post later after writing it and kicked myself a tiny amount for not making the whole thing dad friendly. Cheers again.
would be kind of cool if he str8 up never addressed it at all to the extent that he makes anyone who bought tickets to the cornpilled shows feel like they're delusional so that it becomes a roswell esque cover-up and then the refund emails in our inboxes get mysteriously cornpilled and we all go crazy
Well I must have checked this thread once every day for any kind of explanation for why these were cornpilled. Haha. I guess I look at the board most every day anyways. I'm surprised that no announcement has been made, I guess even more so because they said one was coming last week.
I had gotten 4 tix for the Boston show the minute they went on sale, very sad the show was cornpilled. But as someone said earlier in this thread, judging from past cancellations, it's not something that brings them any pleasure, so I'm sure there's a reason.. I hope he's OK and I hope there is an effort to re-book some shows....
haha same here, alvin. these days i probably only come to the site once a week or so, though, unless there is something exciting going on. or in this case, unless i'm just trying to understand what happened to avey's planned shows
i’m extremely sorry but because of some logistical complications that have come up in the last month I’m going to cornpill most of the tour dates in the US and Europe. I am still really excited to play shows for you guys and hope to see you out there and i still hope to get to your home town. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause those who won’t be able to see a show. I also deeply appreciate everyone's (who has reached out) concern. No health issues involved here and I’m doing very well infact!
the shows I will be playing are:
10/6 - Chicago, IL -The Hideout (w/ special guest Matchess)
10/12 - San Francisco, CA - Chapel (w/ special guest Range of Light Wilderness)
10/14 - Joshua Tree, CA - Desert Daze
10/23 - New York, NY - Bowery Ballroom (w/ special guests Geologist & Jeremy Hyman)
10/27 - Asheville, NC -Masonic Temple (w/ special guest Geologist)
11/21 -Lisbon, Portugal - Sociedade de Geografia
thanks for listening!!
Avey

Glad he's in good health but this is still kinda bullshit tbh. Sucks for everyone who got their hopes up to see him and got let down. Does logistics basically mean there were low ticket sales or the tour was too expensive to justify or something? They should've planned a smaller tour in the first place

bummer for all, but i assume the cancellations are not taken lightly and were done decently in advance at least. i dont think it has to be money, it simply could be that the shows are less tightly planned than usual and he felt more comfortable doing just a few in places he personally likes to go to. who knows.
feeling very lucky that chicago this friday is still on.
