I'm also surprised at how much he appears to be treading water with these new songs. Like, I quite like what I've heard but if I heard that they were leftovers from the Greaper era I'd say 'duhhh'.
I'd also say that the post about Dave and Noah being on the same page with these beat driven songs is pretty off, given MotW/Eucalyptus and the fact that Dave's been playing guitar, even acoustic, in recent sets.

Going off what we've heard, yeah, for sure. These could be really protracted/meandering on the record though, given what we know. PP vibes

Let’s wait for a full boot before we make too many judgments
the few bits we’ve heard so far have been so good tho. Usually with ac stuff there’s a song or two that could fit in with their last batch but overall leads to a new direction.

it is my favorite material yet
it is different
it is electric
please chill out until you hear the boot

We've heard fifteen minutes, mind you. How can you tell it's your favourite material after listening to it once? Genuinely interested.
Do you mean favourite Noah material? Or AC? That sounds absurd.

*she
buahahaha because i saved up for months to go to desert daze to see specifically panda bear
i meant my favorite of Noah's material
i heard it live and sorry but the boot is not going to be able to replicate the exhilarating feeling of hearing and seeing it front and center/ watching him plug and patch the modular before the set.
you ask me how i can tell? i was front row and center for him at austin psych fest in 2014 (one of the first times he played grim reaper in the us) and i knew then that was my favorite material so far. luckily no one can decide your favorites for you, that's up to you stan.

i'm almost positive i saw him patching something for a good half hour before the show when he was setting up
maybe his synth just has a lot of cables? sounded like a modular

Don't know what this means but great to hear you enjoyed it so much and I'll look forward to the recording, and hopefully see him soon enough.

Looks super similar to this. Don’t think he played what’s in italics and hazy on some of the other new jams. Bold happened for sure and in that order

Sounds like a real good Reaper EP. Not bad. But this is nothing compared to the ATP. Let's not joke around. A few more registered users eyeballs witnessed this newer performance than the 2012.

WHAT IS THAT WORd sOUP captainhowdY?
I was at DD and panda was absofrickinlewtly golden. It was also my favorite material. my opinion COUNTS because its MINE!
When i asked if I could record with tripod they said no prolly not, so whoever did get a recording, god bless you. If you held that up the whole time for our sake when you probably wanted to move around a lot more, that's a noble and worthwhile sacrifice!

Okay everyone! Here is the bootleg. I need to preface this a little...
Shaun (the other one) brought his Zoom recorder but realized the batteries were dead about 10 mins before the show. So in a pinch I decided that recording on my iPhone would be better than nothing. So that's what this is. BUT the extra delay in getting this up was because I wanted to try to get it to sound more respectable than a typical iPhone recording if possible. So I sweetened it up with my audio equipment a little.
It's still just an iPhone recording... but for what it's worth I think it sounds decent.
This is just one file but if someone would be kind enough to split it accordingly that would be rad!

Also, I feel like it's worth mentioning to the people that weren't there that there were several moments when he was using some sort of high-pass filtering to cut out all the bassy sounds (so it almost sounds like you're hearing it out of a radio or speakerphone or something) and so that's how it was actually coming out of the speakers, not just the recording getting wonky...

ah man that is a disappointment about the zoom. i wonder if there's any chance of another recording showing up
I know... it would have been a lot easier audio to work with. I think this one doesn't just sound like a typical shitty iPhone recording though but I'll let you be the judge

I vote that we call the final new song "Force Quit". He keeps repeating the "Force quit when there's nothing to quit."

is track 2 the one where he says "falling asleep at the wheel" ? seems like a good title?

Yeah lol. It is what it is, I'm glad we had someone thinking on the fly even though the recording is probably lower quality than it would have been. I am grateful all the same
I also got the wrong number of ties for my wedding and also realized it the day of. Lol

Loving the vocal pitch shifting bits, really adds to a feeling of warpedness.
