Big Let Her Dance vibes on the last track. This shit rules!!! the second to last one... man. What if this album was released in the 60s? hahaha
Now I hear the breakdown and it definitely is sampling that right? Is the first song also a Bobby Fuller Four sample too?
I loved it when I read the album would be based on loops of old songs, and the album delivers hard. The mix is incredible too!

Missed the live stream because it was 2am for me. Had a listen of the whole album this morning and it's just incredible. This will be on repeat for quite a while.

After the album they streamed the danger video, and after that they streamed the album again but as instrumentals

No. Fucking. Way.
Officially joining the chorus of hopefuls to see that ripped or re-released later.
EDIT: Everything's Been Leading To This truly feels that way. Holy moly.

Gutted to have missed the live stream but was way too late for me.
Preak, I didn't actually know that was your channel but I've been subbed for ages, it's awesome. Great that you got a shout out!
Had a great time listening to this last night and right back on it today. Really like the slowed-down space blues kinda vocal melodies from SB, works so well as contrast and accompaniment to PB's more soaring lines.

Listening to Whirlpool melting in the midday sun and I am feeling ECSTATIC. It could go on for hours, I've got goosebumps and like asmr on my scalp.

Going in I knew there would be some nostalgic sounds, but I had no idea they were going to bring me back to those Spacemen 3 records with Everyday and Whirlpool. This made my week.

Think this album is accomplishing exactly what y’all wanted it to. It’s so healing. Just a joyously smooth ride the whole way through. The “looped 60’s pop openers” premise sounds like it could (potentially) lead to simple or monotonous results, but these songs are so dense and they way they build is sublime. Thank you so much for the medicine. The joy expressed by all here is a just sprinkles and whipped cream now

Whirlpool is great. I don't mean to take anything away from this track with this remark, but really reminds me of Dance Yourself Clean in some way. The syncopated groove of the poppy synth percussion that comes in after the vocal is what does it I think.
Livin' in the After is a full on Mariachi track and sounds like a more upbeat and vibrant song that could be some sort of Person Pitch b-side. This is great Sonic Boom, you guys really gave us something special here. From the production, writing, y'all's vocal performances and melodies, the entire aesthetic of the marketing, videos, and the cover. Beautiful.
I love how Panda's writing in recent years seems to focus on repetition in the musical arrangement but entirely changing the vibe and groove of the song by singing a different rhythm and cadence over that repetition. He did similar on Buoys and I absolutely adore it.

I wonder how long it will take until someone mixes a thick 4 to the floor techno kick drum into everything's been leading to this. I love the track just as it is, but it seems like it's begging for it

Also, living in the after would have been the last song I would have played one of those swirly PW cow-effected op-1 synth patches on, but for some reason, it just works so well. Actually, I'm really surprised how well all the synth sounds work with the old samples, the percussion and the acoustic guitar on the whole record. The production on this album is just spot on!

gotta say I'm pretty surprised by all the comparisons to person pitch. do people just hear samples and automatically go there? to me, the sound of reset is quite tidy and deliberate, where PP is messier and impressionistic.
specifics aside, PP is 15 years old now and it seems so clear to me how far noah has developed as an artist. Like he no longer even works within the bounds that made PP so good.
I agree. Though I can understand the main sample in ‘Go On’ reminding people of ‘Bros’.
Gettin' to the Point is VERY Bros to me. Most notably the verses.
In my small circle everyone noted how a few of these tracks feel like a tidier PP, so I don't think it's a stretch.

Over/under on them dropping a remix/dub version of the album similar to what Boom did with “Almost Nothing…”?

Boom, I feel compelled to join the chorus here - you and Noah made something really special and it's so deeply appreciated. I woke up very early today and drove around my neighborhood listening to RESET with a big stupid grin on my face. I love the stuff you guys put out into the world; you're a force for good.

pffff....
Wowee . So amazing to read all your thoughts ......Thank you all so much...I'm so pleased to have been able to do all this w Noah & you all & happy it's kicked in & It's side-effect free work is being done .
No question , It was the most fun I ever had with any record I worked on . I think once we had the concept in our heads the res(e)t was fait complis.... just kind of picked up an energy that fed back into itself . And I hope will continue to ....
Touched to read the comment above about the aesthetic of the record & promo. Nice to see it gets noticed . For sure a lot of thought & work from a host of people at Domino , our old friend Marco Papiro who made our beautiful art & set the tone with his dayglo colour scheme and your & our own dear Lucas Moreira , who animates & creates most of our social media clips, makes videos (yet to come) , and who also the Wizard behind the curtain running our RESET party YT stream last night .
Really pleased you enjoyed the Instrumentals too . It was a last minute idea , but I also love the way it reveals the details in Noah's bass & "nervous keys" (p)reset 1 MicroFreak keyboard parts , our percussion & claps & all my electro ghosts & spirits . OP1 Moonweed (whirlpool/danger), take a bow too please .
I can't say for sure the instros will be released , but my vote got cast already . Let's hope so .
Bobby Fuller's 'Let her Dance' was an inspiration for the form of "Everything's been leading to this" for sure & the cow bell vibes but there's no sample used in any of the 3 w my Lead or In my body . We tried to take the samples out of some others too , but what Noah had written around them fitted their shapes too perfectly to lose . Whirlpool does use some of the backing parts from "Things Like this (A little bit deeper)" from my All things being Equal solo LP.
It was a lot of fun partying at home with friends & seeing the machine gun comments section .
Thank you again for all the comments . There's still more videos & vibes to come

I think this is my favourite release from all of anco and Pete. It's got their cool trippy thoughtfulness layered with so much fun and brightness. I know you mentioned it might be uncool Pete but I don't see anything uncool about the wholesome heart of this. Getting emotional from it all. Love to all the boys, thank you
