immediate thoughts so far...
Sequential circuits is amazing, gives me shivers whenever it starts
Mr Noah is familiar, going to take a bit to shake the 'single' feel from this one.
Davy Jones' Locker was interesting, kind of woozy, and then I realised why it was there when
Crosswords starts immediately with vocals and everything, very different to live versions but funky as ever
BBCM is very strange, especially because the only version I've ever heard before is Victor_Borge's lounge version  It's got a very shiny slippery feel but it's also played very straight. It'll take a few listens to get a hold of that one I think.
Boys Latin now, so back on familiar ground. Very excited.

great to have further confirmation on the extra songs. Just to have a list, things we have from the pbvsgr era include: a great album, soon to be 2 eps, loops of remixes and snippets accompanied by visuals, a mixtape, at least 2 videos, a couple of tours, a ton of alternate covers and artwork, countles interviews, and an endless amount of inside info from sb. Classic era

More first listen thoughts

Come to your senses is a jam, but I'm left wishing the vocals were less affected and the instrumentation a bit clearer. I guess I'm spoilt by the boots? going to need to sink my teeth into this one
Tropic of Cancer is very nice of course. The Last Post sample is the start is kinda funny, I'm Australian so it's weird to hear that somewhere like this.
Shadow of the Colossus.
Lonely wanderer. I really like this, the piano is suuuper pretty, and the drone/horn sounding thing reminds me of ODDSAC
Principe Real is funky, I really like this too. I'm still finding the vocal effects a bit distracting but I'm sure that will pass with more listens.

Final songs:

Selfish Gene is great... I like the line "making songs not making noise", and I like the bits in the middle where it sounds like stuff happening is just floating past as panda and the synth jam. I feel like it could be a little more driven but that's nitpicking really
Acid Wash WOOAH MAN THIS IS GREAT! Totally get the sea shanty vibes people were talking about when the freebird came out. the drone ending is great, this song is quirky in classic PB style. GARAAAPH THEEE SPAAAAAASMMMMMM! whatever that means!

The album is a lot to process, going to take lots of listens to appreciate everything. In my excitement and tiredness everything's sort of melded into one it feels like it was over so fast.................uhugh As I said, I need to sink my teeth right in. for now, sleep. It's 4AM :D

Thank you petek and panda for a truly amazing journey, this has been a fantastic and memorable album launch.

But wouldn't the "Demo" be the Keep tape and the "Sonic Mix" be the Tomboy version?

but where exactly are those preakness songs on that version of the album? they're not listed in the tracklisting on the right although one of them is underneath the other blurb that also includes "2015~2016." is it just like an advertisement for an upcoming single or something?

If my shoddy Japanese can help out at all, that bottom sticker says that the song was accidentally printed as "Preakness (Motorik Sonic Mix)" and is actually called "Preakness (Motorik Demo)", sorry etc.
It's listed on the obi as a bonus limited first edition addition to the CD, and is accessable via download code which I'm assuming comes with the package itself, although it says the code's only good for a year and that the dates of availability are subject to change or something.

Yeah the only reason it's a little irritating for me is because I got my CD shipped to home but I'm up north about 3 hours for college.

Found the Japanese CD on ebay but 2-4 weeks shipping :negative:

Also it looks like The Preakness is available via a code rather on the cd itself so I'm not sure how to swing that not knowing Japanese :(

Coachella usually makes bands sign a contract that disallows them from playing in Los Angeles within a few months of the festival, but I think that's probably only for the first row or two of headlining bands? And since PB is (blasphemously) on the fourth line that probably doesn't apply. But I'd still like some proof of The Roxy show because otherwise I'm driving to Santa Cruz.

sure hope so. would be a mission to drive to Santa Cruz so LA is a bit more convenient.

though last time we tried to get tickets for a show at the Roxy (James Blake) it sold out in literally one second so i'm not getting my hopes up

would be nice (but not sure now that they've pulled it from fb) if it still went on sale thursday. less people are likely to try for tickets to a show they don't know about 8-)

there are listings on a tweet site purporting to be a special edition japanese version but the file list doesn't have any versions of the preakness in it (just has pbvsgr and mr noah)
