oh bummer. that makes it seem like the presale sold out of tickets.

i would keep trying every couple minutes to see if someone who put a ticket in their cart doesnt actually buy it so more come available.

i had to follow the email that went out yesterday announcing the album and new dates. google failed me in getting there

he said in the ama that he's thinking it'll be a mix of eucalyptus songs and new songs.

exact quote was: "Im thinking my tour will be a mix of eucalyptus songs and newer songs I've been working on. I hope to have a large bag of tunes i can switch around from night to night but we will see."

Interesting, I wonder if it'll be acoustic or electric in that case.

My girlfriend and I had one of our first big dates at the Avey Chicago show in 2011 and to be able to go back 6 years later together is going to be really magical for us.

any austin folks ever been to barracuda? of all of the venues in town I've been to, I've never been there. looks pretty chill from the pictures but I'm curious on any reports of sound quality.

re: "Avey/AD/80" - i had been hearing "Avey" the whole time and was really surprised by reading "80" and actually just didn't get it. My wife thought the same as some others - that he was looking ahead at his life to when he will be 80, but now that people mention "80" sounds a lot like 'A.D,'" I agree that this is the most logical interpretation, espeially coupled with one of the quotes from Dave in a recent interview where he talks about Angel asking him what the song was about whenever he went to have her record the vocals for it.

I've been to barracuda a few times. I don't remember the sound ever being a problem there, but I've mostly seen garage rock type stuff and haven't been too focused on it.
The king gizz show I saw there last year was killer.

There's also an indoor and an outdoor stage, I'm assuming it will be on the outdoor one.

it's "not thinking about no holidays..suddenly i wake up now". Thought it was "no hollow days". but yeah that's low key the best moment on the record, that little minute there but i think its supposed to be... and then that kinda creepy/sad/beautiful ending part...

Didn't see anyone else post this. Lots of good info. He'll be touring alone in the fall and says it'll be a mix of the new stuff and Eucalyptus stuff. Also says that he doesn't think the next AC album is too far off.
