Whoa, this era sounds amazing! They sound better than I was even expecting! Just as well is such a jam! All the old songs sound great with this set up!

I mean, Praise into Buoys and Just as well into Slow Motion are such epic transitions! Peeps gonna be crowd surfing to this! Could you imagine? Crowd surfing at a Panda show?

stunning once again.

kinda interesting that these sets seem to be heavy on the first 5 songs of the new album:
1. Praise
2. Anywhere but Here
3. 50mg
4. Ends Meet
5. Just as Well

and of the second half of the album, we've heard Defense and an old live version of Left in the Cold, and the other 3 are still unplayed?

6. Ferry Lady
7. Venom's In
8. Left in the Cold
9. Elegy for Noah Lou
10. Defense

Love the idea of Praise starting the album based on these live versions, such a fun vibe

Anywhere but Here isn't my favorite of the bunch - but I'm excited by the change of pace it'll be and what it says about sequencing.

Ferry Lady has been on some setlists but yeah no recordings yet. Venom's In and Left in the Cold were on the roster of songs he posted on IG for the setlists but seemingly have not been played so far

I'm hooked on the london boot, this version of Never Ending Game soars and Ends Meet and Just as Well are as fun as I hoped they'd be. gonna get demoitis if rivka/maria aren't singing these parts on the record

thanks - good to see some setlists have been posted now, just took a look myself, thanks for the heads up.

looking back on the roster of songs for this tour, interesting that the one song on SG not listed is "Elegy for Noah Lou" / "S of E." I wonder if it's because it's a slower track and he didn't think it'd work well with the rest of the set. though "Left in the Cold" has been listed...

cool to see he's been opening a few sets with "Defense."

"Never Ending Game" is such an awesome opener though.

I'm definitely wondering if Left in the Cold and Elegy for Noah Lou are drumless and more atmospheric tracks that he thinks would mess up the flow a bit. Maybe he considered Left in the Cold because it's not quite as long. The pacing of this album seems like it will be a little uneven but I am at least loving the thought of the flow of the first four tracks

I think its most likely that they only rehearsed a certain number of songs for this leg of the tour, and will be changing it up a little for other legs. Both his and ACs shows usually vary by a couple songs depending on the leg of the tour

Looking way ahead - I'm in the PNW, and the Toro y Moi co-headlining stops before they get here. Anybody have a sense of what might be coming for those shows? I'm guessing not. But thought I'd ask.

What do you mean? They'll just be normal Panda Bear as headliner shows. The Vancouver show hasn't announced who's opening yet, if that's what you're wondering.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at - who's opening or a new co-headliner to replace TyM. I didn't know if I'd missed something or if we're just waiting to hear. Sounds like just waiting.

sucks to hear, hoping for a speedy recovery

I'm digging the how the album flow looks right now, it tells a story. Front loaded with the bangers, a darker side B with a big euphoric closer. Very curious what Ferry Lady and Venom's In are like.

Next single presumably first week of Jan. Ends Meet surely? Could also see 50mg or Praise though I'd hate to have the opener and closer as singles

the more i listen to the single, the more i think about how unique Virginia Tech is in Panda Bear's discography. It's not completely out of left field, but the instrumentation, speed, vibe, and style is unlike the rest of his output. Almost like playing the long game in how it stands alone. i love it
