I went looking back through old threads. I didn't want to bump the 'worst lyrics' thread for obvious reasons but I was laughing out loud at some of the posts in there

Rosie Oh is such a jam man. Highlight of the album and one of the best Panda tunes in the AC catalog for me. Seems to me this is the track that the "C hz production style" worked best on. Almost reminds me of a Strawberry Jam era tune just based on the vibe, so shiny and sugary. Great PB melodies too. It'd be interesting to hear a Reaper treatment of this tune. They didn't play it live that much huh?

I fucking love that video. Avey literally just sitting there with his hands on his lap. Doesn't even flinch. Probably doesn't even blink. Seriously fuck the rest of the guys that performance by Avey is transcendental. Notice Fallon shakes his hand after the song and completely ignores the other guys. Damn straight, they were way off their game. I'm not even sure what song that was, must be some new material shit. Right as it's fading out he tells Avey Down There >>> Person Pitch

Dave had strep throat so they couldn't do Today's Supernatural. Not sure why he didn't play the piano part of rosie oh though. I guess he was just feeling shit being sick

avey just plays weird noises with his elektron sequencers in rosie oh he says it in his interview with yoni

and this version is void of the noises he makes (except for the intro phasery sound which u can see him turn off on his sequencer when the kick drum pattern starts) it just has the rhythm, deaks guitar, geos bass and geos weirdy kinda synth thing. maybe the noises didnt sound good thru the shows system or something so avey was like fuck it ill just sit here? thats actually my best bet, i have thought about this a lot

I read the Avey AMA for the first time and this is an interesting quote about C hz. The question was about the mix and if they would keep producing in that style:
"I think the chaotic nature of those songs sometimes forced us to mix the bass a bit softer so other things could shine through. A four person AC record can be a busy world.
It's possible but we tend to try and move away from certain things once they are captured on a record."

listening to this for the first time in probably 2 years right now and realllly feelin it
i always liked it, but i'm enjoying more now than i ever have for some reason... i think maybe after getting really used to Painting With's vibe this has a new freshness to it.
the rawness of the vocals is really nice and something i'll admit i missed on PW.
and the melodies are a lot less poppy/top-40ish sounding than i remember thinking they were initially, also the songs feel quite long in contrast to PW.
it's good stuff imo!
anyways, would be curious to hear if anyone else who took a big break from this album feels the same as me listening to it now in the post-PW era

I started this thread and posted long ago that one day CHz would get its due. All of their records grow with time (like a fine whine).

Yeah I've listened to PW a ton this year and recently listened to C Hz after not hearing it for a while and I was kind of amazed by how much I loved it. The heaviness is such a contrast from PW which feels light and airy in comparison. I always liked Moonjock but I really love it now. The moment right after "sun heated seats then 'love me do' was" where goes back to the chords from the intro, that's one of the best moments in the whole AC discog
This is the AC album I've listened to the least but I really wanna get into it more. I don't dislike it and there are a lot of parts that I think are amazing, but as a whole it feels like it still hasn't totally clicked with me in the same way that other albums have. Also listening to this album stoned is the best. That's true for every AC release but especially with C Hz it feels like it makes everything make sense to me

that is very true, I like that
My favourite is def NTB, it's like a huge monolith standing at the centre off all the album's chaos.

Definitely excited for my next listen of this! I was so absorbed with Live at 9:30 and other Cent Hz. era live bootlegs before Painting With era, so coming back to the studio album after PW Tour should be refreshing.

the newest AC album always makes me appreciate the one preceding it more. that's no different with PW to CHz. i've been understanding and appreciating it on a deeper level since i've started playing PW a ton as well.
i'm always astounded how well their entire discog compliments them as a whole. we're continually getting to see a new side of them which just makes other sides of them more valuable, unique, cherished.
PW continues to blow me away... i absolutely love it, and it seems to be like a metal hawk or something that comes down to scoop the centipede out from the dirt... CHz was such an earthy (yet alien), raw, dense album, and here we have PW coming along as the perfect yang
harmony and balance, these AC dudes, peace y'all

Centipede Hz seems like a big truck they're all operating. Stomping, raucous, like the starts of songs are them revving up an engine. Hard to stop once it's going. I really appreciate it.
By comparison Painting With seems like an electric car. Efficiently starting, going, and done quickly. Love 'em both. It makes a lot of sense them not doing any Hz stuff this tour.

I would say that Spirit is an old elevator, HCTI is a cement mixer. Danse is a moored boat and Water Curses is scuba diving gear.

Don't remember making that first post. Don't think it's much of a subway either. HCTI is actually more like a Wacker, or a steamroller. Perhaps a whole construction site's worth of vehicles.
Fall Be kind is possibly a cable car by night. Prospect Hummer is a canoe or paddle boat. I like the idea of Feels as a horse. What other animals can you ride? That the only one? Oh Hollindagain is a bucking bronco
