Hahaha nu metal? I don't hear that at all. Of course I haven't heard nu metal in 15 years so...

just imagine it with bigger drums and terrible scooped distortion and it makes total sense haha

i wish i hadn't heard it anytime in the last 15 years, but nu metal is sneaky.

How cool would it be if Slasher Flicks started covering certain Avey centric AC songs live? for example Honeycomb. Actually there would probably be some miffed peeps out there if that was a thing.
I can just hear Angel singing backup for Avey in errthing.

You arent alone bro. From the Glassland recordng and the freebird, I find Im not really liking it at all. Its not my final opinion, Im waiting for the official release. But yea, its all really average. Its very disappointing because I know Avey can do better. Little Fang has cute lyrics but its really annoying. So far Im getting the feeling that Strange Calores will be the best, but its still impossible to say right now.

yeah man, i know what ur saying. sometimes you get extra calories in your diet that you didn't mean to put in. it's really strange

It was sold in white for the Brooklyn show with tour dates on the back and then in black soon after, I believe with the dates as well

I caved in tonight as well. got some heavy spencer krug songwriting vibes while listening which is definitely a good thing. kind of wish i held off for a better quality freebird as well, but i guess i blew it. :?

OMG you quality dorks out there. Seriously not going to explain this again.

I dunno I'm not really enjoying most of this album. Duplex to Catchy is a pretty good run, but otherwise the songs don't do much for me, and I think Dave overuses flanger and phaser a bit on some of the songs. In fact, some of it reminds me of Call Home (Buy Grapes) a little bit, if a bit less experimental. It just at times sounds like some normal-ass band playing along with a set of underdeveloped Avery Tair songs, to put it as blunt as possible. This might be one of their few related releases that I think is a 5/10 - might bang

Same. I'm actually going to wait until I see them on April the 19th to hear it all again. I think it'll be worth it! I also plan on purchasing the album at the show. Boy, am I going to spend a pretty penny on records that day.

Super bummed about this release, expectations were way too high. Little Fang was a very misleading single. I will listen to it here and there but I could never love it.

I'm ok tho because Panda and Deakin give me reasons to live

Yeah I listened non-stop for like a week. Not listening again until my album pre-order arrives. I really need to invest in a better record player though. I have a crappy Crosley Traveller's Turntable. Only had it about a year or two and it's already been having problems with the turntable mechanism slowing down and not maintaining a consistent speed so my records are starting to sound a bit pitchy.

Can't believe the underwhelming response. I love these songs. Maybe I've just really wanted to hear some rocking avey songs for a long time and I'm just getting the fill of exactly what I needed but this is top notch IMO

songs like blind babe are what i was really hoping centipede would have. since they'd talked about doing the live alien rock band thing, i was envisioning something like that. not downing chz at all, i just think this really delivers for people looking for some speedy and rocking rhythms

Second half kind of blurs into one glob of strange blacklight alien dance party madness, but the first half is real tight. The man writes a hook in the most unbelievable way. Little Fang's gonna be a big hit on weirdo karaoke night for the rest of the year. Although I can't really hear Deradoorian at all and I wouldn't know she was on here unless I read the pre-release stuff about the band.

those songs are good but not metal.
drums on blind babe blow all of those out of the water. i listened to those chz songs today and they're definitely good, but don't have quite the intenseness of blind babe.

moonjocks the most metal ac song. these songs are more like garage rock, which is cool, but not nearly as energetic as chz imo

i havent heard the studio blind babe but panda's drumming is way more intense in the studio chz than the slasher flicks boots as far as style goes. ponytail drummer guy is more classic style drumming panda is afreaka style feakout drumming
