the songs I didn't like live, I still don't like.
but, the rest of the songs rock even harder now.
Strange Colors woulda made a good closer.

Only a couple listens but I'm finding trouble to get into this album compared to whatever else the guys has done since I follow them. Not necessarily a bad thing though, maybe it will click later.
Little Fang is one is the catchiest things they've done, but the rest are catchy in a very weird dimension. I'll play it monday at work to see reactions.

if it is still available somewhere, i would appreciate a pm. i was trying to hold out, but it's hard with all of you talking about it [and maybe i'm not a pro-googler, but i can't find it anywhere at this point]. i've pre-ordered if that makes anybody more sympathetic to my request.

It's so good! They definitely nailed the live band sound... Who produced this?

it's cool. im not sure how into it i am or will be. A Sender is a jam, i like It Won't Grow (prob because it's the only one I remember from when I was standing next to Noah at the show) and maybe a couple more. i don't think it's the sort of album i would usually listen to though. it seemed like sometimes the sounds blurred a bit, i don't know if anyone else feels that way. mightn't listen again til the full thing is available, but i think it turned out pretty well.

from the pitchfork interview it sounded like they were basically doing the whole thing themselves. avey had talked about mixing for hours and nevr getting tired of it

Is no one working on lyrics for this yet? Still to pumped to bother?
Just checked on lyricalcollective and found nothing. Maybe after I get off work I'd be inclined to put a couple together.

I've downloaded the freebird & it's your fault dudes, you talking about how good is this and that, I'm just hesitating because it's missing the 8 track but I've already synced it to my iPod I feel a little bad but I couldn't resist, I'm sorry Avey but I have no self-control I did not listen to the boots so I hope my fault in that way it's not that serious.
Let me explain how the weather is here 79ºF sunny day 2:30 pm / under these circumstances the album could be more psychedelic as when you see mirages due to the heat of the desert. Peace

I've been trying to piece them together, but I can only make out a couple lines here and there. I hope this album comes with a lyric booklet cause all the fx on Avey's voice make them pretty impenetrable.

This album is so simplistic it's bordering on infantile. It's the kind of thing I'd imagine a kid in 6th grade listening to so that he can feel cultured an sophisticated. It tries so hard to be more than it is and falls completely on it's face. Avey is really struggling to find any sort of meaning to put forth on this album, but it's slipping through his finger tips like quickly evaporating water. Each track is a betrayal of what makes Avey good and each track exquisitely demonstrates that he simply isn't anymore. He's exhausted what little talent he had so he's recruited two indie rejects to keep his career alive. Three has-beens is clearly not a recipe for music. I'd say that Avey should stick to what he knows, but I don't think he even remembers what that is. The Avey train has officially run out of steam. RIP AVEY TARE.

Get yr Bitte Orca out of my Blind Babe chorus amiright? jk i think
Modern Daze E is the grooviest song. The vocal effects/processing/harmonies in that one especially blow my mind.
I hope the next single if there is one is Modern Days, but almost all of this album could be a single

Seriously, I get chills. It's such an intense moment. I feel like this song is tied with That It Won't Grow for my favorite so far.

Anyways...
That It Won't Grow didn't stand out in the boots imo, but the album version is the best thing on here. I feel like this is what I'm missing from current AC: dynamics. Avey is at his best when he's weaving through a story lyrically and the music builds accordingly. Ditching the electronics seems the best way to go. Keep it analog. Get back to simple songwriting. Maybe the guitar brings that intensity out of him. Which I really love his style of playing. He strums the strings and makes chords like a piano player. It's great!
It's really killing me that we don't have Roses yet. I'm becoming attached to the album so it's going to feel out of place at first. Maybe not though since I'm already familiar with the live version.

I agree with this completely. You may find it strange but when I listen to "A Sender", I hear "Did You See The Words?" in parts of it... and that is awesome to me. Complete surprise. I will admit that a couple of songs I originally liked have worn out a bit, but the ones that were really really good from the beginning to me are still really really good.

I hate to be late to the party, but I'm too big of an AT fan to not ask for a link. Much love, I know it's awesome!
Edit: I'm not sure why there's hate for those just wanting to listen. I've been a huge AC fan since I've started listening and have come here for the past few years to get AC related stuff. Is that not what this forum is about? (This being one of the three main subforums on the site, after all). Should I talk about the boots that came out over the summer? I think the only real way to join the conversation at this point is to have a listen to the newest jams, anyway. Sorry I don't to sound like an ass, just want to listen to Avey's new stuff. (And I fucking love Two Doves, as well as Angel's solo EP) Also, if you haven't seen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fDl_3uNmEU

Stoked for Roses.
Anyone else getting a They Might Be Giants vibe from Modern Days E?
I also feel like the mixing is a little off, muddled and hard to make the vox out. Little Fang sounds so crisp I'm comparison I feel like these aren't the final mix. BUT WHO NOSE?!

What is a good bootleg to listen to if I haven't heard any of them yet?
