Yeah, I'll buy your ticket from you whenever you get it... that sucks, I'm sorry you can't make it.

These next 2 years are going to be exciting times to be an AC fan.

Crazy that the writer said AC would come back next year. Thought Geo said it was going to be a long while? I couldn't imagine where AC goes next.

2015 seems right on schedule for the return of The Animal Collective, here we go for Solo release extravaganza 2014!

P much confirmed those Down There tour jams!! Which are more exciting to me than even PB or AnCo maybe. Lil Fang isn't doing much for me unfortunately.
Maybe Geo is takin a break.

Lil Fang is rocking my world. But yeah also really excited about the potential of hearing all those Avey 2011 jams finally.

man, i'm not sure i can go to the one in south bend. if I even have the time, little fang is not what I was expecting but I probably rocked out to that about 30 times yesterday. I didn't even know about the existence of that song until yesterday. Was it played live in the beginning of the tour in the summer? And I don't know why people are complaining about the effects on his voice, I like them and it's not a big difference.

how do they justify 18+? Shouldn't it be either all ages or 21+ in the states? (I mean shows should be all ages all the time but I digress) Maybe I don't understand how things operate but I'd be surprised if you got ID'd for an 18+ show.

New tunes next year is to be expected though...not sure why everyone is freaking out haha, though it is exciting. They toured for CHz in 2011 and released in 2012. Next year is 2015 so it'll be a normal amount of time between cycles, nothing out of the ordinary!
I'm really digging the artwork too, Gravity. Definitely wasn't what I was expecting with this band but it is perfect! Also going to requote myself since it got lost in all the sweet interview news (yay 2011 jams!). Sticking by this until an interview comes out saying they just saw a cool piece of wood and Danny drew something on it to be funny:dance avey dance wrote:just made a connection while driving and listening to my glasslands recording...there is a section of lyrics in That, It Won't Grow that goes something like "spirit of the oaken heart, you live life on a tree." Possibly an inspiration for the artwork?
It doesn't feel like Centipede Hz is nearly two years old...holy shit.

18 is the legal age of an adult in the states. For insurance reasons, it is a liability to have an all ages show if something were to happen to a minor inside the venue.
Honestly, I think he should be able to get around the 18+. They will probably only ask for ID if you plan on drinking so you can get a bracelet. StrangeClams, I'd give it a shot. The worst that could happen is they actually do ask for ID and you say that you don't have one, but you aren't drinking. It'll depend on the security guard but he might let you in. If not you're out $20 (not the end of the world) or you can try selling your ticket to someone on the street!

Just don't be nervous, and be aware they will have their eye on you inside if you get in. But ya I remember those days it sucked.

also @clammys honestly most places even if they say +18 are usually pretty chill if you're at least older than 16
they just kinda give you that "oh, you" look, and that's given they actually check ur ID

Pitchfork are really rattling my chains by not posting the entire transcript for the interview. Knowing the usual AC schedule, it seems bizarre that Dave would be so sure about the band rekindling so quickly (especially since he has a tour to do and since Panda Bear has yet to even record most of his newest material). How long are they planning on writing for the new record? Are they going to do their conventional tour-before-recording process or are they shortening things? I'm beginning to believe that the interviewer and/or editor might be misinterpreting Dave's words.
That said, it is cool to hear that he's prepping a follow-up to Down There; I remember there being some speculation that his set from 2011 would be issued as a live EP rather than as studio recordings. "Song for Jerome" and "Slow Words" need to be revisited ASAP.

Really excited about the post-Down There solo EP stuff. I feel he really tapped into something very special during that time, shame it's only briefly archived, though I suppose it was a very brief transitional era! I'm more excited about that than AC stuff at this point. I think they need to wait for the creative juices to flow again, the circumstances surrounding CHz seemed somewhat forced, for perhaps the first time. This explains why it's the worst album of their career. Oh, and Ben.
Little Fang continues to play in my head, though I've not listened to it for at least a day. Good stuff, a nice bit of sugary froth, like a mouthful of lemon meringue pie. Does it compare to the depth of flavour you get from a Down There bouillabaisse? Perhaps not, but I'd rather eat it more often, I think.

I don't know who controls such things, but should Little Fang be added to the poll at the top of this page?

adding it would reset the poll... might just be too troublesome?

Yeah in that case shouldn't we just just add the Sender and Catchy too?

It's kinda weird to me that they would separate The Outlaw and Your Card in the tracklist, considering how fluid and natural the transition between those songs is live. At the same time, I think Your Card is a cool choice for the last song, the album would definitely go out on a pretty heavy moment.

anyone else picking up "From a Beach" vibes from "Little Fang," at least melodically? like, when Avey sings "your makers must have kissed in cosmic dust" i can almost hear "gliiiiiding" from "From a Beach"'s chorus. i might just be going crazy though.
