my 7 year olds brother instant reaction when he heard the first ten seconds of little fang: "this is from flight of the conchords!"
- 30 seconds in, "does this have phoenix in it??"

this song makes me pretty happy and the few lyrics i know are pretty relevant to a sad thing that happened to me today

at this point i think it's safe to say animal collective fans are going to have to accept that dave will put that warble effect on his voice like tobacco from bmsr uses vocoders

Why do people always seem to bitch about this? I think it compliments Dave's voice pretty well and adds texture to his tracks.

first thing I thought,
yesyes very sweet it is. i love it, the only thing I dont love as much as all the other things is dave's vocal effect. it's not very disturbing but still slightly disturbing.

i wasn't "bitching" about it like that A Lads Keg dude was back on page 4. i even went out of my way to say i enjoyed the warble effect. plus, tobacco is awesome.

I can barely hear the vox effect, maybe my ears are bad. But yeah, I think maybe he has a default warble effect-box like in his throat. This song is still too weird to wrap my head around. This is totally the Applesauce of the record: track 4, at least 4 different parts (AS has like 5/6ish), and its kind of giddy and sounds a bit like a kids song. Also first song we hear before the album (if you don't include TS).

just made a connection while driving and listening to my glasslands recording...there is a section of lyrics in That, It Won't Grow that goes something like "spirit of the oaken heart, you live life on a tree." Possibly an inspiration for the artwork?

Does anyone else feel like when the first song comes on and you hear those main nearly disco-y synths that there's just no way its an AC song? I just never would have guessed he would do a disco-y thing really, even though that's not the best word to describe.

Comfortable doesn't mean he'll slouch and slack on it...comfortable just means they all know each other so well and how each other work, it's the complete opposite of what he's doing with Slasher Flicks.

It is "You and Me." The actual titles were released a few days after I recorded the show so you have to go back and change them. Been telling you fools this since June! :P
1. Blind Babe
2. Duplex Trip
3. Oliver Twist
4. The Outlaw
5. Your Card
6. [wrong guitar]
7. That It Won't Grow
8. Roses on the Window
9. Modern Days E
10. Strange Colores

New tunes next year is to be expected though...not sure why everyone is freaking out haha, though it is exciting. They toured for CHz in 2011 and released in 2012. Next year is 2015 so it'll be a normal amount of time between cycles, nothing out of the ordinary!

I'm really digging the artwork too, Gravity. Definitely wasn't what I was expecting with this band but it is perfect! Also going to requote myself since it got lost in all the sweet interview news (yay 2011 jams!). Sticking by this until an interview comes out saying they just saw a cool piece of wood and Danny drew something on it to be funny:
