Cool track I guess? Wish it was a little longer so it had space to move somewhere different.

I dig it! Very cool to hear something like a working demo for an unused song?
Sounds kinda like maybe around painting with or post painting with era with the synths but it's hard for me to tell on first listen.
Unrelated but kinda not: I pray for a day when we get a bunch of demos and rarities.
I hope they know that some of us would really enjoy listening to a huge boxset of stuff from the eras. I love this band through and through and sometimes the roughest and simple sketches are really impactful to me and elevates the studio work even more hearing the contexts.

Avey said on one of his isntagram posts that he wrote this during or right after the hurricane in Asheville,
so I think it's completely new

The fried lofi quality of it is pretty nifty, gives off some early Guided By Voices vibes to me. Would be cool to hear a couple fully realized songs in this style.

Cool little track. A simple looping structure a bit like Kindle Song or something. Dig the dry, scratchy texture. Definitely a little leftover treat rather than a full 'song' but rad nonetheless.

Holy shit, this is my favorite thing they've released in so long. EXACTLY the kind of shit I love from them, that moves and speaks to me in a primal, emotional, way.
Danse-core, but unique. The sound of the drums and the way the vocals in the 'And I know that I'll take it on myself' part just sort of layer on-top, or above, the rest of the song, is disconcerting and transportive. Whole song feels kinda fuzzy and green, you know?

the extra song's pretty neat, it's called "better things to come". music wise it's kinda your standard 7's era avey two chord jam fare (not complaining i love that record). production wise in terms of existing ac records honestly the best i can come up with is it sounds like a cross between campfire songs and danse manatee. like a more warbly and dancey moo rah rah rain. actually now i think of it i think it's the same two chords as moo rah rah rain lol.

that's me, I don't particularly mind, but I encourage anyone who is financially able to at least buy the digital album (which does NOT include the bonus track) just for the sake of the cause (which is the Western North Carolina community, who were hit hard by hurricanes last year)
