That's either someone who wanted to avoid extreme publicity by finding the sample, or...a band member? Maybe this has already been figured out and I'm just clueless, but even then. This is intriguing to me.

(re: Alvin Row sample) So, I'm not the person who originally posted the link to the source on this board, but I am the person who submitted the entry for the sample on Whosampled (here: http://www.whosampled.com/sample/430556 ... agic-Echo/) Looking back in my emails it says that submission was posted on June 8th.
As for how I found it: my grandma has this VHS tape with four cartoon shorts on it, one of them being the animated version of Sparky's Magic Echo that was linked here earlier. I watched that tape all the time when I was a kid, and years later I was listening to STGSTV for what I think was the second time when it hit me that I recognized the sample. Did a little research and found out that the cartoon was originally a children's record. Had no idea at the time that it hadn't been found by someone else before, and honestly for all I know someone did find it before me, I'm just the one who put it on Whosampled is all.
So if anyone was curious that's my story!

Has anyone else ever tried to recreate the Search For Delicious sample from Enya - Na Laetha Geal M'òige? I pitched down the track in Ableton then recorded it into my SP-303 but I can't quite get the loop right. I was kinda surprised because I thought it was just a looped section of the track but it sounds like he chopped it up and rearranged it a bit to get the loop that you hear in SFD. I got it kinda close but it doesn't sound as smooth as the original either, just curious if anyone else has taken a shot at it
Once I got a decently close imitation of the loop going I sang the vocal part and fucked around with the delay fx on my voice like Panda does, pretty fun if you have too much free time like me

Little sample used at the end of Song for Ariel. Pretty sure I've heard it in other '07 era live sets too but I could be wrong.

Just found a sample from the beginning of Search for Delicious, its the first like 9 seconds of this. I'm also pretty sure panda put this track in a mix sometime around grim reaper era, it sounds super familiar.
edit: lol somebody posted this like 8 years ago

Hey, not sure if anyone has found this before but I found the sample Dave used for the voice that loops at the beginning of What's the Goodside.
It's found in the first 10 seconds of this Raymond Scott album.
(I apologize if the link sets it at 5 minutes, it's in the very beginning (I don't understand youtube links anymore)

It's not on this thread at all so maybe the weird reddit someone posted it. I try to avoid going over there.

Could be way off - but the end of schizophrenia by Sonic Youth sounds a lot like the drone at the end of comfy in nautica. I think he maybe sampled a chunk, slowed it down and looped it to maintain the pitch, as it dives in the original song. @4:38.
Pitch is already close so the 303 could probably have shifted it without too many artifacts, which definitely are there if you listen close, and it does seem to loop.

They’re not in the inner sleeve list so maybe I’m wrong and I found a sample for myself

Meant to document this awhile ago, but I also kind of thought someone might have mentioned it, though searching shows no immediate results. We were watching Night of the Hunter the other month and my friend noticed the boat scene scream in the same as the one leading into final verse of "Laughing Hieroglyphics" check it out:
Always thought it was Avey but this is most certainly the same scream and it makes sense given his sample sources.

Not sure if there's anything to this but I was listening to Swing Slow (Miharu Koshi and Haruomi Hosono) today and in the song "Disappeared" there's a section where the drum pattern reminds me of New Town Burnout.
Tried tempo matching the two and looping different parts and I feel like it could possibly be a sample source, or likely at least inspiration since there's other other sounds going on in the Swing Slow track that don't show up in NTB.
section starts around 3:40, and around 3:50 is where I noticed it at first
