One thing I was wondering about his tour set list:
anyone know what "Ferry Lady" is?
Now that we know what this album sounds like, I'm so sad to know that his twitter snippets aren't on the albumThat clip over the vid of a guy playing the acoustic guitar was such a vibe, I wish that was a real song so bad.

Why do you think that those snippets won’t be on the album? That one especially I think is
thanks that helps me vibe with it better actually.
I kind of both do and dont care about lyrics... but it's cool to see pandas style develop. there's highs and lows of the post tomboy cryptic, minimalist thing he usually goes for, but on reset it def got as like ad-jingle level simplicity as he's gotten and this is kinda close to that. which can be chill cuz then you have stuff like Danger where it's a more direct and verbose.

For me lyrics has a huge role in the experience of listening panda bear's music. I mean really huge. That's the problem I have with the Buoys album, where I like the music but most of the time I don't understand what he talk about and I miss a big part of the experience.
Any thoughts on when the next single might come?
Total honesty time...
Many of you know me (at least a little bit) and I've been around here forever. I'm a long time head and have even occasionally been accused of being a bit of a Pollyanna. Everything AC touches is gold. Right now though, I'm feeling myself in a bit of crisis...
TS and IIN were the most 'conventional' sounding albums the collective have ever released. That said, I was deeply attached to the songs and I felt like the whole era came across as a really wholesome reflection of the band's long term connections etc. I loved both albums just like I'd loved everything before.
I've heard Defense a few times now and I'm just not connecting with it at all. I fear that Noah has gone too far down this 'conventional' path that it is just sounding a bit... bland. To be frank, it barely even sounds like him anymore. Most of the unique appeal from those original Madrid boots feels lost here and the style has transformed into some pretty straightforward 'rock'. This guy is one of the most inventive drummers of all time but this song offers nothing. Simplistic and banal drums that don't change the whole song. This guy wrote and performed the drums in the fucking PURPLE BOTTLE! And even recently songs like Magicians have really engaging drum parts. Panda's song writing is often quite simple and repetitive but has typically produced a kind of pleasing (sometimes euphoric) meditative effect that I've always loved and been 100% hooked into. I'm not getting that here either.
It's like he has shed virtually all the idiosyncrasies that made him such a unique and captivating artist. I'm worried for this album. I really don't mean to be a downer but I feel like this is the only place to get this out. CA are the only ones who might understand that feeling this way goes beyond just 'liking' or 'not liking' a song. I'm genuinely feeling down about it! Haven't really had a reaction this strong to new AC before.
As a bit of a P.S. I'm also really bummed about news of Noah's divorce. As a happily married man with children myself, one of the things that has always contributed heavily to my deep sense of connection with the band was the fact that they seemed like regular dudes, family men etc. When Dave and Kria broke up I really struggled because songs like 'Bluish' had become a massive part of my life. My wife has curls just like the ones Dave sings about in that song. When they split I felt like maybe some the songs and lyrics that meant so much to me were now hollow or void. Now I'm getting those same feelings about so much of Noah's work that has reflected on love, marriage and fatherhood.
Help me! What do I do here?!
all my bitches cook grits
the most annoying thing about the "i'm bummed about noah's divorce" take i'm seeing here, on reddit, the discord channel, etc. is that its always framed with the implication that somehow noah's pureness is impacted because he went and did this thing, which, (1) places the onus of the divorce on noah and (2) strips Fernanda Pereira of any agency in the choice, maybe she wanted the divoce and sinister grift will be noah's version of death cab for cutie's kitsugi, or bob dylan's blood on the tracks.
I guess its not unreasonable to look to noah (or any celeb/artist/person you admire) as aspirational or draw meaning from the ties between their life and their art but i gotta say, it is deeply weird and parasocial to be following the tabloid drama of this guy's life.
sorry, i don't mean to trivialize how people are feeling, people are for sure entitled to those feelings, its just hard to jump from the ca might close forever thread to inane posts about noah's fucking marriage.
The only thing I'm bummed about is the age gap between Noah and rivka I feel like we're allowed to have opinions on that at least. its not like the worst thing ever iirc she's 30

was not insinuating this. personally I would not go out with someone ten years younger than me that's all I'm saying. not criticizing anything on her part
Love ross edging blueballs king
yea I've warmed up to the artwork a lot since first impression. it's got a classical quality to it. still odd how closely framed it is but that's presumably the intention
A bit of a confession: I actually didn't like the Tomboy art at first. Person Pitch and the singles were so my aesthetic vibe that I felt a bit let down by the lack of color and clarity. But then I heard it and now think it's fantastic.
found the inspiration for the artwork !
