WILLIE —— my 1 question for you is: did they keep the Trains Across the Sea interpolation in on Genie's Open

confused, defeat is track 5 on the album.
i got an email from domino that has the track listing (though i imagine it's already been posted):
1. soul capturer
2. genies
3. broke zodiac
4. magicians from baltimore
5. gem and i
6. stride rite
7. all the clubs are broken
8. kings walk
who was closest by the way?
I think you should get your eyes checked, Defeat clearly isn't listed there.
confirmed "hot" on the magnolias

just piss yourself cowards
Deakin confirmed in an IG message that he plays bass in Soul Capturer and Avey plays guitar. Geo is on all the keys and electronics. Pretty cool—I’d assumed Deakin played all the little flourishes on keys

I don’t think so but if you send me a live version that has it I will check
Slippi's Applesauce wrote:a little blurb on rough trade calls gem and i a single:
Across its 9 tracks, Isn’t It Now? has something for everyone from the catchy bassline on the highly-repeatable single “Gem and I” to the heady 22min centrepiece “Defeat” which we recently released on 12”.

Damn. I like this tangerine more than the orchid they had on Domino. Already ordered though…

interpolation starts @ ~5:20 here thru ~6:55
is this the first LP where all of the working titles survived to the final LP?
Oh ok. Nah.
indiecast was probably talking about mitski, huh
so orchid, tangerine... any other colors we're not aware of yet?
panda also does guitar, all the little licks at the end are him

Yep, had this thought the other day.
the production is just so ridiculously good, sounds so warm and authentic and rich, this is about to be the first AC album where the studio versions are straightforwardly better than live across the board

strawberry jam? idk if any of the working titles of those songs are actually known but i've never seen the ones that were played live before the album dropped (peace, chores, FRG, fwx, cuckoo) called by any other names
You are absolutely free to describe me as a turtle or something.
curious about what's different between the single and album versions of soul cap. maybe just an outro / transition?
in any case it's a cool song. I like the production and the drumming sounds kind of Feels-esque. but I feel satisfied after one listen, don't feel like I need to replay it until the full album is out (which isn't usually the case with new AC singles)

in some press release or something it states it has an intro to the album that’s not on the single. probably dave just saying hey y’all it’s animal collective! and then the song starts
