I probably never enjoyed it quite so much. I always thought it was great but listened to it a load over the last few days and surprised by how much I've been buzzing off it after quite a long time without listening. There's so much gold in here, incredible rhythmic thrust to the whole EP but particularly Math and Folks, energy and snap. Also, killer killer killer melodies and harmonies all over the place. Even something like Shepherd Tone is wayyy better than I remembered.

Also, I'm listening on my Atmos system which probably isn't what's intended but you can hear so much shit going on. I would absolutely love love love if Reset got the proper Atmos treatment, but not sure if that was just people making two and two into nine.

sometimes i think homies might be my favorite. sunset is my fav, but all of them are immense (well, shepherd tone slightly less so but it's still really good). i like the vinyl mix better than the digital though. love those extended intros.

I think vinyl mix Homies is my fav panda. Sunset is truly one of his best songs. The breakdown at the end... like fuck yeah. it's a shame he sung free from the yokes chorus in a lower octave, that shit was kinda litty live

Love to see this love. Easily my fav PB release. So consistent, not a single dud (which I personally feel can't be said about any of his full-lengths). What I also rate is the fact that this doesn't sound anything like the PBVGR or the Buoys era, so it genuinely is a standalone thing.

Sunset is a top three panda solo song for me without a doubt. Litty indeed.

This ep had a really huge impact on me. hearing person pitch for the first time, and this for the first time, were two separate massive moments in my life that totally changed how i think about and make music. thanks noah

agreed with you speen, this ep was a mind blowing experience upon its release, and continues to give whenever I come back to it. I'm a side A guy, flight - one of his best ever and potm - do I even need to say anything? A lot of my favourite lyrics of his across these two tracks alone.

side A is amazing, but i still really struggle with the songs on side B, especially "Sunset" which i've always found odd because it seems like a near-consensus favorite. i love the instrumental, just not a fan of panda's vocals on that track (or his vox on "nod to the folks").

Interesting those two (sunset and nod) are far and away my highlights. I like flight and the other two have their moments but sunset especially slapped my face off when it first came out on vinyl, like I was honestly kind of shocked by the very first vocal note/harmony and immediately in love. Has a sad but sexy and like crestfallen vibe. Love love love the lyrics and melody and like playing it on guitar

It's up there for me with Selfish Gene and upper tier Tomboy for me in terms of goat for Noah. Couple moments on Buoys and Grift on there with Water/Danger now too wow

But ya I love this and remember it coming out right before the AC music box shoe and I was in new Orleans at the time. Cheyrou missed mbv cuz poser/was in tx but even HE knew sunset was good when I played it for him late on night 2 of MBV after show party. And he's idiot

I had a funny reaction to Homies, absolutely hated it when the record arrived on day 1. Thought his voice sounded bad and didn't connect with it at all. Few months later, tried again and fell in love. Now it's a top 2 PB release at worst for me. Love the vinyl mix, love the digital mix, it's just brilliant.

The lyrics on Part of the Math are potentially my favourite Panda Bear lyrics ever. Existential, euphoric, Stoic banger.

Feels good leaving everything as it is...

A crystal shine on a pool of scum...

We're all deities washed up in a sewage Ieak...

Amazing, goosebumps, punching the air shit.

I listen to that song now and I'm just like LGF

Amazing EP, feels like a short album really. Its my third favorite PB release after PP and TB. Was such a fresh breath of air at how he let the intros and fade outs take their time. One of the reasons I love live AC so much (and there's tons of reasons) is their transitions into and out of songs feel so natural. This EP blessed me with that.

Gotta add my vote to the vinyl being way better than the digital. I really like the compressed, one big sound feeling of it. Digital one feels weaker.
