If anyone hasn’t seen the doc on Doc Pomus, the story of him writing that song will bring you to tears. What an amazing songwriter!

A lot of the keyboard lines and pads/strings (like on Everyday) seem to kick in just when you want that little bit extra, and you feel like the song moves into a different mode. And then when it shifts back, you really enjoy that change, too. There are loads of moments like that, too many to mention and probably loads too subtle for me to have picked up yet, but it's definitely something I can feel and really enjoy. The keyboard parts also feel as much about rhythm as melody, like in Danger. There's 'nothing to it' (on the surface) but that one ringing note adds a euphoric urgency.

I could go on but that's enough for now.

I really love Whirlpool for this exact reason. It adds a little element every go around and gives me The Knife Deep Cuts vibes.

Seriously, these textures are just delicious. Those dial up/modem sounds in Edge to the Edge are like pure ASMR, is that the microfreak?

The production on this album is amazing, sounds all around. I wonder if the the the boop boop sound on Whirlpool is a sonar/radar sample. Reminds me of old aquatic adventure movies/tv shows.

Yeah , Kinda like it's for an imaginary episode of Marine boy , where Marine boy falls in love with Neptina & get's his heart broken . Marine boy was my childhood hero . I think the music in the show (and the theme) had a beautiful vibe & uses a lot of tremelo & electronic effects .

That boop boop sound is Noah on a bongo drum . addictive isn't it ....

No it's a little keyboard I found 12 years ago that plays all the modem handshake , dial up etc.
I guess that dial up tone stream is a real phone number ....

Wowee . Thank you . That one got upgraded as soon as Noah sang on it . His interweaves & doubling on lines is so sweet . I love the step filter on it . Gives me that Hot chocolate feeling ...love the filter bongos in this ...

This album is so cinematic. I'm a screenwriter and I get an instant flood of clear moving images when I listen -- different for each song. I feel like there's a movie in each song.

My toddler also loves it. "Can we listen to "Edge of The?! The one with the eyes?"

Don't know what it is about these tracks. Body is reminding me of the spirit river of light in Mushi-shi especially with the trickle down stuck up in branch bit. Edit: I also love the clacks in the background

First release in a while where I show my friends one song and they go off and listen to the whole album and come back to me to say they love it. Been trying to get them hooked on Panda for years!

Thats nice to hear . I hear the whole LP as a musical . We've looked at making a modern version of a musical out of it , Maybe with kids , but haven't found the right allies yet .
Psyched yr nipper digs it too . For children of all ages 1 -100 : )

I know a few music lovers who didn't really stick with PB after PP, finding TB less appealing and interest waned. All absolutely loving this.

For what little their opinion matters.

I love smile and those rebuild projects like MQR presents so that makes perfect sense. Can't believe those songs are as old as they are, they sound as fresh as reset

Take your hands off of those radishes!

This album is almost TOO good. Whirlpool might be the best song ever created. Pete, can we get some official lyrics for it?

Genius says:
"Draggin' it deeper
And you'rе at the top"

but I'm hearing "your undertow" instead of "you're at the top"

Yeah there are quite a few lyrics for this album on genius that don't sound quite right to me. Of the lyrics I can make out tho, I'll say that "when I get a chance to do my thing, it's sink or swim" is such a great little line. Classic Panda honesty and optimism.
Also I think In my Body might be one of the best songs Noah has ever written. Like it just covers his entire style so well.

Quick shoutout to the bass on this album. Wowee

I too wish we had more official lyrics, the GttP lyrics on Spotify seem pretty close if not accurate though
