I am so beyond hyped for this show. First time seeing them since they opened for Fleet Foxes at Merriweather in 2017

I've seen them since then (moogfest 2018) but that MPP show was so underwhelming. AC played for like 45 minutes and Fleet foxes droned on for like 2 hours

I'll be rocking the new white AC shirt that I picked up from the show in Philly. Brown pants too.
SO EXCITED !!!

L’Rain was really impressive, holy shit.
Screens was the highlight for me, really beautiful. Did anyone else think rev green was way too slow, almost unintentionally-seeming? lol

Unsolicited review:
I've seen AC at least about 50 times (counting diff projects) over the past 17 years (shit)
I've been listening to them a lot again lately, and was so pumped for this show, but I felt the setlist was super disappointing and that they wasted a lot of opportunities.
- Panda behind a full drum set: Woulda been a dope opportunity to (finally) bust out some Spirit They've Gone and other stuff from that era where he went absolutely apeshit on the drums. Almost all his drumming was super rudimentary and functional, but he's truly one of my favorite drummers, from all of Spirit to the Purple Bottle-type floor tom workouts, but it was none of that here really… he didn't really get to show his actual skills IMO. (Drum solo?! lol)
- If you're gonna bust out only a handful of older material, you've got sooo many better gems to pull out. What's with the selections recently? When I saw them at Moogfest 2017 they played so many old and new tracks totally reimagined and it was so lit. Chores was awesome, Rev was cool, and Flowers was the same they been doing (not complaining), but they didn't do much to them aside from adapt it to their current setup. But like… No More Runnin (at the show before this), Lion In A Coma really? So many better tunes... but that's more of an opinion....
Even the new track selection was off… no Prester John?!? And I feel bad for the kids who were still screaming out for Man Of Oil long after they ended…
Even the projections while they had their moments for the most part were their/her weakest that I've seen, super low quality/pixellated.
DC has been hella dead, but the crowd last night was so hyped, and there was a LONG string of slow tracks throughout the middle/most of the set that put everyone to sleep.. The crowd would have been more than happy to oblige the band, I felt like L'Rain kinda upstaged them and worked the crowd way better. No cap some of the dronier parts of their set sounded more like AC than AC
Sorry for airing out my complaints, lmao. I feel better now
L'Rain, the vibes overall, and Chores (lol) were sick

In love with Applesauce and magicians after last night. In the flowers was magical as well. L’rain was tight, so glad they opened

I definitely agree with them not matching the crowds energy lol. with a few exceptions (chores was LIT), the crowd was a lot more excited than they were, which is definitely a first in my experience. the sludgy, slow reverend green was also funny because the crowd was dancing and screaming at a totally different tempo than the band

Since I first heard it I’ve predicted strung would be a monster live and it did not disappoint that second section was electric! Overall I loved their performance last night the only thing I wish was we got gem or broke but overall I enjoyed the set list. Had a great spot over center balcony to just chill
And enjoy

I thought their energy was good last night, it's just the nature of this entire era to be a bit more mellow I think. Now that I've collected my thoughts and am no longer in a stoned stupor, I'll say it was definitely a tight show. Genie's and Magicians sounded the best they ever have, love how Defeat is sounding now too. Gives me a very good feeling about how those songs turned out in studio. Loved hearing people in the crowd cheer when Baltimore first got mentioned in Magicians. Something about Rev Green definitely felt off to me but I couldn't quite place what it was, like the chorus felt out of tune or something. In the past I haven't been a fan of the way they've done In the Flowers for this era but something about last night's worked a little better for me, might have been the live mix, which I thought was relatively quite good for them. Also the super slowed down Screens is so beautiful omg.

The crowd around me was okay, I think I was the only one who knew all the songs and lyrics though and was dancing like an idiot lol. So many highlights from this show, the songs sounded so polished, yeah they do sound as good as they ever have. Really wish I hadn't been off my ass on edibles and had properly set my levels so we could hear it again
but I wasn't in the best spot to record anyway (trying to cope, I had never been there before)... I NEED a high quality version of Applesauce and Chores asap
