4 Deak songs this era = Royal, Stride, What's on the Road, PB Hearts. 1 on TS, 1 on TS2, 2 extra that were both performed at Music Box.

Any guesses on what the new album title could end up as? I have a few:
Space Rifts (ties in with Time Skiffs, and rhymes with it, they did say this was a sister album of sorts and I think this would be an awesome(ly cheesy) way to bridge the albums thematically, something along these lines might be too obvious for their style though)
Sea of Light (Also ties in with Time Skiffs thematically, would be a cool repurposing of that original title, but may also be too obvious)
Wildcard answer:
Jamba Live (lol get it because they're jams that originated in new orleans (jambalaya) + they sing about/name stuff after food a lot + aveys affinity for wordplay Jam + Jambalaya + Jam Alive. probably too much of a strawberry jam retread and also its dumb 0/10 + will get sued by jamba juice + ratio)

Domino better not just sit on this fucking thing. Or we'll have to start cracking skulls.

some vinyl pressing plants are saying their turnaround times are 7-8 months. I'd guess a relatively big label like domino could get some better results than that, but this will likely be a big factor in when the album comes out

i honestly really hope all eight tracks make it onto the next record but i do have a feeling soul capturer isn't really being treated as part of this particular vibe. the only track totally confirmed to be on the record is stride rite, but i think gem and i and broke zodiac are both basically givens since they apparently tried doing em for time skiffs but ended up setting them aside for when they could be in person

something that sorta concerns me re: defeat is that 20 minutes is more music than is usually put onto one side of a 12" record nowadays. i hope that doesn't cause them to cut it down to 15 minutes or something. if they keep it 20+ minutes i wonder if they'll just squeeze it all onto one side or split it up somehow or what

I could see it being 18-19 minutes tbh.

I'm betting studio Defeat will be slightly less spaced out than what we've heard so far. Feel like that's usually the path their slower songs take in the studio. Compare the end of studio We Go back to the boots. Same with Midnight Special, even though that's a solo track. That alone might shave a minute or two off the track length.

I've compiled all 8 of the songs from Blast Skiffs and it clocks in at 65 mins, I'd imagine in studio those 8 would be more like 60 minutes.

k this is a wild idea but hear me out. what if they made the first part of the record 45 RPM like Skiffs, and then the defeat side of the record 33 RPM to allow more music to fit? or would the quality be a noticeable difference? I wonder if any other band/artist has done that
for reference google says that 25 minutes fits one side of a 33rpm record
maybe its 22 minutes according to this https://peakvinyl.com/record-playtimes/

Off the top of my head, GY!BE and Darkside have done that. I don't think the quality is noticeably different.
And yeah Defeat can fit easily on a side of an LP. I think pushing past 23 minutes is where quality starts to suffer, but even then much stranger things have been pulled off. And really what does it matter in the end? The song is more impartant than catering to a format, as beloved as it may be.

i still listen to KidEatKeyboard's' Post-Skiffs compilation a ton -- it's serving as a satisfactory placeholder for the next album.
and just think in a month we'll have new bootlegs to gush about. TS is really the start of a beautiful new phase of AC prolificacy
given TS2 is likely dropping 2023, it'll be the first time we get AC albums in back-to-back years since '05! and yes i'm getting ahead of myself, but given they have ANOTHER album ready to go after TS2, could we get yet another AC album in 2024???
they have such a backlog of songs at this point, enough for a steady stream of releases for years to come

the real question is are we getting a new Panda release at the end of the year to tide us over until TS2? I remember hearing rumor that he had two projects in the works last year

I don't think they have another album ready for after ts2....

Yeah this is the weird thing to me. I feel like Domino REALLLY wanna space out these projects, but potentially we have an AnCo LP, AnCo EP, PB solo release, PB/SB collab release. I just can't imagine how they're gonna schedule these over the next year or two

Is there potential for the PB/SB collab record to be released through another label other than Domino? Whichever label SB releases through?

Was thinking this but seems unlikely. Still, I think this PB and SB record will be under a different moniker so it might feel separate enough from AC to warrant a release in between

Sonic Boom's last record came out on Carpark which used to distribute Paw Tracks. I don't think a release there is out of the question.

I get mildly infuriated at the "Defeat should be it's own EP" comments. Why would they put one of their best songs EVER on a EP that will only get attention from their hardcore fans?! It makes zero sense!

its not like one of their best stuff are on eps right..

idk why did they leave safer as a b-side or leave street flash for an EP? those are two of my favourites but didn't manage to make a full album release. it doesn't seem out of the question.

I'm just thinking about the albums Tomboy and Panda Bear vs The Grim Reaper before Sonic Boom was involved.
S-Rank
Young Prayer
Person Pitch
Buoys
Tomboy demos
Panda Bear vs. The Grim Reaper demos
DNQ
Tomboy
Panda Bear vs. The Grim Reaper
That's how I came to my conclusion.
