Ehh, I'm joking with this exaggerated criticism, I actually quite like the EP, but OK, some people find it funny and some don't. I'm also quite happy to wind up the people who are unpleasant in response but it's boring and easy. I'll give it a rest.
Keep it up! Your thoughts are always insightful and hilarious.
No, stfu and never come back. Yr banished from the top half henceforth. If u don't like it u can just leave buddy
Ok if u combine this ep with that tipped in hugs song and that stuff from that single than this album is...better than horse cows? Hourglass? I don't remember the name of the album these are b sides of
Disc One has been on repeat since yesterday, absolutely enamored with that one. Something special going on in that song. Also I feel like there's some really cool stuff happening with the vocal delay on Red Light Water Show, especially if u listen with good headphones.
Did anyone notice that the "Conference of Birds" side of the EP now has YouTube uploads for each individual track? It's just the music, not like special content or anything, but now you can listen to Disc One on its own without skipping through the video!
Yeah, these tracks are killer! really excited for the second half! wonder how uncle donut gonna sound in studio...
Though, it does feel weird without dr. no following disc one miss that song, wish the eyes>disc one>dr. no from the OG mothlight stayed in tact for this EP and red light was moved to cows or something.

just uh for the record, as a person with definitely no demotis for these tracks, they're all pretty fantastic. esp 1st one and disc one. incred. there soooomething about the vibe I feel I prefer to Cows for sure. can't put my finger on it. feel like this is his version of Panda's Homies. these boys knock EPs out of the park
and if I have to admit to any demotis for this era its on Mayan. and not that I dont really like the version on cows, its just I reeeeally liked the way it was when Avey played it solo originally. tho the Deakin/Jeremy version is sick too.
Red Light Water Show tearing my heart apart right now :'(
I didnt have demoitis but I listened to the Mothlight show the other day out of curiosity and fucking loved it. was more upset about the changes to horse and taken boy than midnight special. but not THAT sad. i went about my day. only started crying once at my desk but pulled it together. got bills to pay godammit. thanks for the songs Avey, love ya. hyped for side 2
I love taken boy, I guess because by the time it came out I'd completely forgotten the mothlight version.
The only song that ever stuck with me from that boot was midnight special, and even then the recording was pretty poor so I don't see how you'd be married to any particular detail from that performance other than the "energy" of it, which admittedly is undeniable, but I also think that the perceived energy is a product of the poor recording making everything sound more blown out and intense.
I'm a big fan of midnight special on the EP. Love the vocals on all the songs, they sound really live.
Disc One is fun, I'm not always into Avey's goofier songs but it works. I'd maybe swap out the acoustic guitar for something more imaginative

I feel like they throw literally everything on youtube now a days. Tipped in Hugs/Dogs Say Goodbye isn't online at all though, and Homies hardly was til the mp3s last week. so....maybe? I think my Ballet Slippers along with the EP won't arrive til Sat. at the earliest sadly. better not be monday ;_;
also, I get this sick 80s like b-movie or weird karate flick energy from Red Light Water that I'm starting to pick up from Avey more recently and its lit and I can't really describe it
As far as the songs go, they're good, but don't do as much for me as anything on cows. Disc One gives me Roamer vibes (which is one of my favorites on Eucalyptus) and while Midnight special has some good sounds, overall it's not that memorable. Keep in mind I never listened to any of the live shows and I'm only about 3 listens in so my opinions are likely to change. don't frequent this board any more so I'm mostly out of the loop on new stuff
