If only they added those songs mentioned then would it be perfect. But for what its worth , close enough.

the only song I really wish had made it on here is What Would I Want Sky. It was written for the 2009 tour, is markedly different from the studio version and it fucking rips. There are a lot of good recordings of the 09 version though.

Instead of the etched side, 07/8 Grace ----> From a Beach--->(maybe Leaf House?)----> 09 WWIWS would be godly and would embody the whimsical side of this era better than any of the other sides honestly. id kill for this side.
why is Bleed on this. no shade, sweet song, but why that one and not some of those^
eh whatev. they should put out a live mix or just strait set like this on vinyl every year tho. just keep em comin. live stuff on wax is sweet, good look for them

I mean this is a sweet Bleed and I like that that and NMR and Banshee kinda show off a spacier contrast to the more rhythmic stuff but we already have BleedING on brosport single
anyway, I only critique it cuz I looove it, this era will always be legendary.

I can totally understand why WWIWS not being in the line up, with that being on the 9:30 box set and all ..
they basically need a live comp that has every live essential that isn't on Ballet Slippers or 9:30 (or like crack box.../tangerine reef). and a Music Box LP

crack box 2 gotta be happening at some point...
og crack box is 2001-03, so a new comp of lost rarities 04-09 would be so sweet

This is basically the Big Sur show from 2009 except that show had #1 as the opener....glad this has a sorta crispy pops kinda curation to it seeing as how the band edited it and whatnot...lots of rangey vocals they layed into once they got real comfortable with the songs...the Banshee Beat version and Daily Routine choices i think makes the release...i love you check the track time and its still got like 8 minutes to go....loong songs baby!
and If I'm just spit balling a dream release here it'd be this much effort put into a Feels era live release, or really just anything between Campfire Songs to Feels eras. This was the era I didnt get to see and always feel the most regret over. The Sung Tongs shows did help...but still, love the drawn out versions of the old songs they used to do live, would love to have them on a release with this much juice...oh and more Large longsleeves damnit all

I'd lose Bleed and Brothersport (bad mixing, doesn't hit as hard as the '12-'13 era and is already fully formed so I don't think it's as essential as the earlier live cuts) and add Chocolate Girl and Leaf House. Sure this is supposed to represent the MPP era but the Chocolate Girl rework feels absolutely essential to this period (much like '16 Alvin Row).

Even considering a new LP (and likely single/EP and music box stuff) is coming next year, this isn't out of the question. The OG was released the same year as MPP/FBK but it WAS a charity thing, so the timing was likely due to that.

I'm definitely in the 07 live was the best camp, but i'm glad to support the boys in this retrospective. I bet it was a great time for the band to get that level of recognition. I've listened to so many bootlegs from that period and the final recorded album wasn't for me at all. I tried many many times to get into it, but it didn't really feel like real AC to me. But the live jams were sublime! So any live album from this period is great to have. AC music makes me happy to be alive!
Full show from Paris 07. On a Beach! Sooo good!

thank you for posting this show! hadn't seen it before and it is indeed incredibly good

2004, judging by their radio shows would be the sickest for misc loosies in the same vein as do the nurse or oh sweet. two of my fav ac's of all time are from this era! (playpen and spongeluke, especially spongeluke...) and the acoustic performances like other music, or rare feels tour reworks like another white singer and winter's love. it would be so sick!

To be clear playpen is older not actually from that era
Q: i love this track, in the spinning on air interview you said that you guys made this around the time of danse manatee, how come it didn't come out on the album? also you said that it came from stuff that panda had on his computer, so was this song mostly his and then all of you got together to work on it?
A: don't even remember it. i'm not even sure i was there that night. it might be dave josh and noah jamming. its a just a jam. its not a studio or multi-track recording. i think you're literally hearing noah's computer and people live in the room and its recorded to minidisc, but like i said, we did so many of those kinds of things back then, i don't remember half of them. and for the spinning on air thing we just went through old discs of jams and improvs and found that.

Cool find! The Spinning on Air interview was the one where Dave talked about mystery, right? That's always stuck with me (along with Playpen and Tuvin, of course)

After a loud car listen to campus today; whole release is really great. It just leaves me wanted more. Why not put WWIWS after that WCWAR. Leaf House was sooooo good that your too.
Really happy to have this HQ Banshee Beat Fireworks jam.

Listened to this during my commute to family for thanksgiving. It's so good in the car, the jams just sweep me out of the mundane traffic and stop lights, and before I know it I am at my destination, sitting in driveway waiting for a good moment to shut it off.
There are so many parts that make me smile. I feel so glad to have a band like this in my life, they truly enrich and inspire my day to day and I feel will continue to do so for a long long time.

something about these specific recordings/sequence or nostalgia for 2009 at this moment specifically or whatever is having me get back into ac music in a way I haven't been in a second and its sweet. good band. I hope they do this for PW era shows in the next couple years, cuz then we'd have a solid document of the past decade or so live-wise on wax. not sure if I want PW shows circa '16 or '17 more tho..

Not a huge fan of Painting With as an album, but the tours surrounding it were some of their best in a long time.

i hope painting with live happens, but i really hope they take from later 16 to 17 shows. the lying in the grass and summing the wrench are some of the gems of that era. and whatever they do, PLEASE include tampa nov 8 PRIDE AND FIGHT, i think that is up there with some of the greatest ac live moments of all time. i dont know how viable this idea is i just wanted to gush about that pride and fight

yeah it's a good vibe. feels like a weird alternate dimension follow up to mpp's shows, whereas the chz era is a prototype for what they're doing now on this new phase/last month on their mini-tour.
shit like Alvin row, daily routine, and loch raven on the initial shows and then stuff like kids on holiday, pride and fight and water curses toward the end is sick coverage
