For those at the Boston show, did anyone else feel like something was off all night? Seemed like his gear kept giving him problems. Pretty sure he yelled "motherfucker!" at his equipment during the intro of untying the knot, and then he just went right into part of the math instead. Slipped up during crosswords too. I dunno, I had a good time, but he didn't seem himself.

yeah i was getting some weird vibes too. he was talking to himself a lot throughout the night and i dont recall seeing him do that before
Yeah, it just felt like an off night. He seemed frustrated and not super into it

He played just the instrumental for Untying the Knot another night so that may have been intentional. Still sucks though

I definitely saw him yelling at his equipment before... was it Crosswords?... and it seemed like he couldn’t get something going there. I saw him say “come on man” at one point in there and was yapping at his stuff a lot. Otherwise, it’s funny but I left there feeling it was one of his most engaged shows. He talked to the crowd more than I have ever heard him- like before the encore and also giving a shout out to his mom/aunt/sister. He was also dancing (in his Panda way) more than I have ever seen him and seemed to be enjoying the hell out of the new material. I definitely saw the equipment glitches and he did mess a lyric up at one point but seemed to otherwise have some good energy, I thought. I also was digging the crowd at last night’s show. People weren’t pushing to get up front (until the encore) and nobody puked on me. Bonus.
Shepherd’s Tone, Boys Latin, and Math were amazing... and I loved how he played with the ending of Flight- my favorite part of that tune anyway.

Having specifically avoided the boots of new material, I was pretty blown away by Dolphin at the start of the show last night. The rest was great too, but that was my favorite by far. Plus I was regaled with stories about young Panda living in Allston in his college days while he signed my Water Curses vinyl, so it was a pretty decent night.

Well I had just mentioned the fact that I heard he used to go to school around there, seeing as The Paradise is minutes away from BU. He talked about how Allston was kind of a pit back in the day (I think his exact words were "shithole" but I might have imagined that). He talked about how he used to cross the bridge to walk around in Cambridge, which was nice to hear since I do the same thing. He pointed out a place a few blocks down where he witnessed an accident in the snow, and another place where he got his ass kicked by a guy who thought he said something about him. I also exchanged a polite nod with Geo as they were loading up the van but I had to catch my train so I couldn't stay to chat. It was a really neat experience, only the second time I'd ever met any of the guys after a show.

wow that is really crazy to hear
yesterday i saw him and geo unloading the van as i was walking down comm ave and was marveling at the fact that half of my favorite band were just standing in the middle of the same street i walk down every day, but it had slipped my mind that he went to BU as well!

Any volunteers to split and eq my recording of tonight’s Brooklyn show? I can upload to Mega and send out a link tomorrow.

That was a really good show. Probably the best of the three times I've seen him. Here's what I could recognize of the setlist:
Shepard Tone
No Mans Land
I Know I Don't Know
Part of the Math
Untying the Knot (Instrumental)
Nod to the Folks
[New song]
Buoys
Flight
Sunset
Tropic of Cancer
Crescendo
[New song]
Last Night at the Jetty
I'm not sure what two of the new songs were. I'm also surprised he played all of Homies and not more Greaper, but I don't really mind, it was a great performance

I’d be willing to check it out, is there a better free audio program than audacity?

The show was so rad. I’m glad we got all of the homies songs. I thought the first few songs were kind of quiet and then I Know I Don’t had the place shaking.
I can’t wait to hear all of the new songs together. I want someone to ask if the acoustic elements in the Bouy songs came from rehearsing Sung Tongs (or vice versa)

bk show was great--lame crowd though? I was up top and people were not moving
except for part of the math, I do not really like the homies songs, but seeing them live now, I get it
but the new songs are a major return to form--simple and direct and original--very obvious similarities when played next to jetty
and buoys might be his most interesting song ever

Boston show was great, and yes, did notice him yelling at something (probably his equipment) during the set. Dolphin, Math, Boys Latin, I Know I Don't, and Crosswords were the highlights for me. What is the strange almost instrumental interlude that begins with something that sounds like Drone and Cosplay--but is neither--and then ends with Rob Frost instrumental? It was kind of an awkward segue....Kinda bummed he didn't play anything from Tomboy that night but I'm just so grateful to have gotten to see PoTM live; it is so much more powerful than the record.
Dolphin has me really excited for the new material, was probably the show highlight. I am really liking the vocoderesque harmonising voice that a lot of these songs have sprinkled throughout them, AND some of the bass on the new songs felt like it was going to tear my body apart! So deeeeep.
Setlist attempt:
Dolphin
Flight
No Mans Land
Boys Latin
I Know I Don't
Nod to Folks
Cosplay
Rob Frost
Math
New Song
Nadir
New Song
Crosswords
Sunset

I was at Brooklyn last night and thought it was amazing. The new stuff sounds awesome. The bass in I Know I Don't was devestating!

Re: CHICAGO
I put together all the songs on setlist.fm, but I've got no clue as to the order. So feel free to edit if you were there. All I know is he opened with Dolphin and closed with Drone, hah. But all the songs are there.

Went to the Brooklyn show last night. holy moly was it amazing! geo's set was insanely immersive (even with a decent amount of crowd chatter), panda was absolutely on point all night. no idea how my ears weren't ringing afterwards. bass so strong my nose vibrated without even distorted sound. just wow! woken is such an amazing track, really awesome sounds. got to meet panda after the show, what an awesome dude.

Thanks! And I'm not sure...I use Logic, but as long as there's compression and EQ you're good to go!

Fixed it, moop! Thanks for catching that.
Dervish - It'll be good once its tweaked in post production. Raw recordings are never ideal. I'm just in the middle of packing to move and don't have time to do it myself.

Raw and uncutrecording from the front balcony (for anyone else, I wouldn't bother downloading this until it's split/Eq'd...it's about 1 gb in size and will be super quiet)

Sounds right for the most part. I could swear I heard Calling In Sick and maybe a few more new songs in addition to those but I could be mistaken. I do agree that Dolphin was the best of that new crop, namely because of that vocoder effect, and I was two people away from being front and center so the bass murdered me -- my ears are still ringing a little bit.

I am so bad at remembering set lists- problem #6,542 of being an old fan.- but ya, that set list from Boston seems about right.
And lust_in_phaze, I was maybe 3 “rows” back from the stage towards the left and my left ear is still ringing solidly. The dude in front of me had some nice audiophile quality earplugs. I think he inspired me to get some, although some day when I’m 80 and deaf, I’ll say: Panda Did It.
