What is Visionaire?
I mean, I literally can't believe this. A few weeks ago, I stood in the snow on Christmas Day outside my house, it's been a very hard year in many ways but everyone is healthy and happy now and I've always got my wife with me which I'm grateful for. Anyway, she was watching some Christmas telly, just chilling out after a lovely day with the family and I stood in the garden having a smoke, listening to this on headphones, snow falling, looking up at the skies, crying my eyes out. I really needed it. I'd held it in for months. Went back in, cracked open a bottle of champagne and watched Home Alone, laughing together all night, but it'll be a long time before I forget the catharsis of that bloody good cry. This music is almost more resonant to me now than it has ever been. I can't fucking believe Animal Collective recorded this.
My favourite Christmas carol and perhaps my favourite piece of music of all time. The lyric reduces me to tears.
"What can I give him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb.
If I were a wise man, I would do my part,
Yet what I can I give him: Give my heart."
I've been agnostic my whole life but that calls me like little else. The voice of God, the universe, a reason for being. It's alongside Raphael and Michaelangelo and the I Ching and Chuang Tzu as heaven on Earth. Man channeling something divine but essential to mankind.
I recommend the King's College, Cambridge version:

so i guess this is from campfire songs the Band, not the Album, right? like maybe that configuration of animals wasn't only put together for the s/t
I didn't know sufjan could be outdone in the indie musician christmas carol realm
Is the synth sound at the end part of the song or is cross-faded from whatever was next on the o'brien system?

It’s cross-faded with the next song he played. There’s overlap so I attenuated it to seem quasi natural.

In addition, he pops a jump but not too hard so he had to carefully measure the specific effort and then implement it.
Wish the band would log back on here and tell us all to shut the fuck up
