Can someone link me to the best rip of this? I have the very first one and the skips and quality have me wanting a better version

Anyone from Brisbane and know Rocking Horse? Went randomly browsing there today and couldn't believe I found ADWTH. Not sure how many of these things are floating around but it feels like a rare/special pick-up. So excited, I've really come to love this EP. My buddy's turntable is budget so I'm not really benefiting from a better sound quality, but it's nice to hear Part of the Math without the skip.
^ I too would like a better quality rip though.

I really like how messy and distorted the synths are in this
Also the ending in part of the math is sick
Ok Im really digging the openended feeling of this release, the way the songs just kind of drift and the ambient sections

Has anyone mentioned Panda used the same vocal run in Flight and Part of the Math?
"We don't share at all. Why we tellin' them to share it all"
"Stop now consider this. Stop making it about your shit."

yeah, i love that. To me it seems like he probably just liked the melody and wrote the songs around the same time. Theres a couple repeating elements on the EP, thats one of them

Interesting how that second lyric seems to be a commentary on fan criticism, specifically from this board, specifically from this poster.

i think i realized i like this a lot cuz it mixes the best of Tomboy vibes and Pbvsgr vibes imo, like i hadnt picked up before how much it reminds me of tomboy's specific vibe, especially the early single mixes...
like it has the go-for-the-throat melodic hooky aspect of pbvsgr and kind of the slightly more like fun feeling of those songs, but also the weather-the-storm feeling and kind of darker, nearly lo-fi aspect of tomboy singles, esp Shepard Tone, like that one is a brother to Afterburner and kind of the samples in Surfer's Hymn to me...
like it feels monochromatic or black-and-white ish in the same way as tomboy, and maybe not just cuz of the cover, but then it also has the kind of melodic flexing and more relaxed, shamanistic musings of pbvsgr. idk, its cool i might make a venn diagram or something

but also some totally new and specific vibes i should say. the bass on Flight is pretty PW-esque but the melodic ism feels like new ground to me in a way... and the guitar sample in Math seems way different too... and the beat/drums for Sunset also seem like a more techno-ish take on his vibe than ive ever heard. all in all its fucking awesome is what i mean

This batch of songs may be the best 5-song-streak the boys have ever released. No lulls or mediocre bits

Immediately still surprised there isn't a great rip available yet - or am I just out of the loop?
Edit: I don't mean in a 'poor ickle me' way, I just mean in terms of ignorance.

if people still have the first rip that skips in Math or really need a better one u can like PM me and ill find that one that i assume is still up that is much better.
but no ya even the best one is still a little dank... my ears have slowly adjusted to when i play it on record which is the only way i listen now (side b is the perfect hot bath length/vibe (yes i do occasionally take a bath so what??))
but ya i always think theres a little lint on my needle, and like i do need a new cartridge, but then its like no shits just slightly dirty. which ive kinda come to love. the vocals sound so tasty, even when everything nearly peaks for a second.
turning down bass a bit can make things a little cleaner, but the effects really grown on me. i mean like its not that dirty, but ya pbvsgr it is not. Reaper was a lot to take in cuz of the crazy amount of sound-design/sampling on top of all the synths/drums/vocals, but this can be a lot cuz of the dope, mid-fi patina even if its only like 3 or 4 things going on at once. its fucking dope
i like this more than i thought i would, its just such a damn pleasant listen. ugh

I would also like a crunch of the crunch that isn't the first crunch, but one of the better / non-skippy crunches

I've listened through the new EP twice and I love it. It's got the gritty and sparse sound of Tomboy and the bouncy harmonies of Grim Reaper with some newer song structures, like in Math. Flight's my favorite so far since it gets stuck in my head the most. My favorite album of 2018 so far lol.

totallllly agree, i tried to say that but couldn't say it that concisely. i think thats the perfect hybrid of older vibes and new vibes... oh and like a dash of PW in the bass tones, but not necessarily in the way its used...

I just can't get over how Part of the Math is basically a rock song. I always think of Panda and AC in general as having an aversion to that conventional distorted guitar kind of sound. Well I guess it's not really a conventional or contemporary rock sound, it's more like a 90s lofi guitar sound or something but still I'm really surprised to hear it. But what's cool is that PotM still totally sounds like him, still sounds very electronic
I assume the guitar is some kinda sample anyway but the way the feedback/distortion has a frequency that modulates up and down feels very in the realm of Panda/AC classic style of psychedelic drones, stuff like the outros of Turn Into Something and Also Frightened. But it also feels very fresh, out of all these songs PotM is particularly the direction I was least expecting him to go after pbvsgr and I'm still amazed he pulled it off

I think this is the least inspired Panda has ever sounded to be fair.
Nod To The Folks and Sunset are actually quite good, ST is okay but especially Flight and POTM are the worst things he's ever done.
There's hardly anything surprising about most of it, there are almost no interesting melodies / melody shifts, no interesting song-structures, the sounds and textures are bland and even the drums/beats aren't interesting.
This is all for his standarts ofcourse, it's still okay, but I can't imagine anyone here thinking that this is some of his best work?
