He sure did. He actually apologized in advance at the start of the show, then again once before the song, and twice during it. At the end of the show he said he was gonna shelve it and in an interview just now he he completely disavowed the song's existence

the new Selection treatment definitely clashed a little but I didn't mind it

I can't wait to hear Midnight Special (previously Right Now) again though. all the new songs are sounding amazing as he builds on them

Midnight Special has been surprisingly absent. Although I feel like that song may have undergone some big changes compared to other tracks. Mothlight performance seems really nascent

I've had the Mayan running through my head a bunch lately. What a beautiful song. Hope it gets released eventually

I was at The Chapel last night (along with a pretty full, but not sold out house).

I recorded the full set from the balcony (a great spot for audio). I listened to a little bit of it this morning and it sounds fine. I'll upload it soon

I was also at the chapel. A few of the performances were some of his best. Have a pretty good video recording of the 2nd half of when you left me which I thought was the highlight. Just not sure where to upload it for yall. Also a little bit of man of oil

Edit: https://youtu.be/bnGWroJuV9c
https://youtu.be/IJvcL3xhaNw

thanks, both of you!!

Funny, I shot two songs on video as well, and they were also the last two of the set (Man of Oil, and When You Left Me). I'll get them synced up with my audio recording soon and post to YouTube.

My video of Man of Oil / When You Left Me from San Francisco is here:

Correct. I think that was the title Avey gave us when someone asked him his titles for the mothlight songs.

Hopefully I'll get to it this weekend. Sorry! I don't have much free time at home nowadays and when I do I don't want to be glued to a computer screen.

The first track is the one that accompanied Danny’s installation at Desert Daze (it includes the drone before the second track)

Just curious if anyone knows or has taken a picture of avey's equipment he's been using on this tour? I'm sure that an octatrack is probably being used for sample sequencing, and possibly a monomachine for the synth loops? Curious if anyone knows his full setup.

wow so excited to listen.

"Unlike Avey’s set, Geologist’s performance included no visuals to guide your listening, just that stark headlamp in an an otherwise unlit room to keep you moored."

i didnt think about what geo's visuals might have been like, but this makes perfect sense and rules.

Except in Asheville people were filing in to the balcony above throughout Geo's set. The sounds of wood creaking and whispering voices from behind added a powerfully haunting layer to the visceral, immersive soundscape.

Danny’s exhibit was titled Zoom Bloom, not sure if that has any bearing on the title of track 1.

I thought I recognized some parts of Geologist's set and it turns out at least the first two songs were played on his NTS radio shows. The tracklists for them (boringly) title the tracks Unused Coral Demo 13 and Unused Coral Demo 6 respectively. Still don't know or haven't found the latter two(?) songs he performed though, unfortunately.

You can see some of it in this foto:

It does appear to be an iPad under his finger.
