There's a part that starts at around 8:30 that has already reminded me a lot of person pitch ("let's get ready for the winter" chant). Agreed that the first part is top notch.

there's been a wealth of good material in the past 5 years from side projects and one-off releases. i'm a slasher flicks apologist so i'm sure some people will disagree with this - but really its only been the main studio albums that have disappointed me in anyway. i just think as a group and solo, they all work better with less production value, like i find that's most revealing in the disparity between the grim reaper demos v. the final product. i love both, but those demos are special. but this is just my stoned take

I love how immaculately produced their albums are. If all we got was demos and loose versions of songs I'd be very sad. That is my main issue with Sleep Cycle, which lacked the polish of a typical ac release (and motw too I guess). I think having bootlegs (and in the case of grim reaper, those demos!)+perfectly produced albums is the ideal situation.

Love Selection of a Place. Reminds me of a lot of other songs, moments of Pumpkin's trilogy, moments of campfire songs, moments of pullhair, with an oddsac/i see ya pan ending.... beautiful!

I love the songs on it so much!!! I just thought as a whole package it wasn't as tight and complete as it could have been.

I'm just being a hater because i love the painting with era so much and I feel its under appreciated. I must defend it

it's not really fair to say Sleep Cycle sounds unpolished when he didn't have that much time to work on it

Anybody else get Pavement/Malkmus vibes from Man Of Oil? (not in a bad way, just mainly in the cadence of Avey's vocals)

+1 to painting with era is underappreciated. the boys found a new zone and did it up well

jamming MOTW after the PW era is liquid gold... these boys always go wherever they want to go, and it's rarely a logical next step... big ups

Just listed to meeting of the waters back to back with Sleep Cycle and Down there and it flowed together really well.

I love this ep so much, really hypnotic peaceful vibe. I had my lights off and laying down eyes closed with my headphones on.

I get the sleep cycle influence and also Boredoms Vison creation newsun vibe. Great work on the samples of the rain forest and the tribes vocals.

+2 to painting with era is underappreciated

Two great eps from the lads within a few months. When is the documentary about the filming of this current ep being shown?

I don't know man. I've noticed this Crosley needs some repair, it doesn't play at a consistent speed and albums will warble. Might save up for a nice turntable once I move out though and kick it on one night. I think I'm gonna hold out on playing the vinyl for now. I don't want to scratch it or warp it.

GUYS. Vinyl only sounds better if you have the proper equipment to play it with it. Quit with the crosleys. Buy the records to collect and save for the day when you have some $$$ to spend on a decent system. Invest in some mid-tier headphones and enjoy those download codes

"Better" is subjective, but vinyl on a good system can sound great and not lofi at all. It's a different sound than a digital setup, one is not necessarily better or worse

Agreed though that for the money you're much better off investing in a decent pair of headphones. If you're listening to music on the built-in speakers on a Crosley or even apple earbuds ur gonna miss out on a lot of detail. Spending $100 on a pair of Grado headphones totally changed my music listening experience

My madukes got it for me for Christmas some years ago. I understand now why everyone shits on Crosleys. They're literally made with plastic mechanical parts that go bad after barely a year.

Heck yeah! I just copped a copy from the UK via ebay for under $30! There's a few more copies from UK on ebay for fairly affordable prices. Definitely worth checking out if you're still looking for a copy.
