If it's supposedly over 30 minutes long, then a 10" is too small, but more places have reported it as a 10" and only a few have said it's a 12", so idk

Great stuff, Tropic of Cans and partario

The recording setup reminds me of Campfire Songs a lot! Except with Geologist using more "musical" instruments this time and not just providing field recordings from the same space

Hoping this can be heard before a purchase. Getting up early to pick up Transverse Temporal Gyrus wasn't the most rewarding experience.

Those sounds weren't really meant to be heard on record, though. It was really just a gift to hardcore fans that don't live in NYC.

This seems like a more genuine recording experiment with actual "songs" on it. I'm psyched

You guys are fuckin crazy. I'm gonna go listen to Transverse Temporal Gyrus again right now.

you made me look up the origin of the quote.

eyvind came in one day and did amazing overdubs on a bunch of songs. sometimes i think it's a shame that the brilliance of his parts don't stick out more on the record, but that's the way we like to mix - make it as much one organic sound as possible. it'd be nice to one day, maybe on the 10th anniversary reissue, do some mixes where his parts are cranked.

I'm eagerly waiting
(although this board probably already had this discussion in 2015)

I like the art, though in general I don't like when album art has a solid color border. but the image itself is cool, giving me oddsac vibes

I think you're right. Looking at it closer, the border is not the same thickness all the way around. Unless that was done for artistic effect, which I doubt due to the subtlety, it's definitely a picture of the vinyl.
